Pharmacological properties
Combined broad-spectrum antibacterial drug against the most common pathogens of bacteriosis, mycoplasmosis, rickettsiosis, spirochetosis, treponematosis and chlamydia affecting pigs.
Tiamulin is a semi-synthetic antibiotic from the pleuromutilin group. Binds to 50S subunits of ribosomes, inhibits protein synthesis in sensitive microorganisms. Acts bacteriostatically against gram-positive bacteria – Erysipelothrix spp., Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Listeria monocytogenes, Corynebacterium pyogenes, gram-negative bacteria – Pasteurella spp., Klebsiella pneumoniac, Muprobacterium, Camlobacter hypopneumoniae, M. hyorhinis, M. synoviae, M. hyosynoviae, Ureaplasma spp. etc., leptospira – Leptospira spp., spirochetes – Serpulina hyodysenteriae, S. innocens, treponemes – T. hyodysenteriae, chlamydia – Chlamydia spp.
At parenteral use the maximum concentration of tiamulin in blood is reached in 1-4 hours and remains 24 hours. It penetrates well into all organs and systems of the body. The highest concentration of thiamulin is observed in the lungs and large intestine.
Tiamulin is metabolized to form about 20 metabolites, some of which have antibacterial activity. About 30% of metabolites are excreted in the urine, the rest – in the feces. Completely eliminated from the body within 4 days.
Tylosin – an antibiotic from the group of macrolides, inhibits protein synthesis in bacteria due to binding to ribosome subunits, active against gram-positive bacteria – Actinomycos spp., Bacillus anthracis, Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium spp., Streptococcus collius Epp. , gram-negative bacteria – Brucella spp., Fusobacterium spp., Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella spp., Salmonella spp., Treponema spp., Bordetella bronchiseptica, Proteus mirabilis, etc., inhibits the action of some strains of Mycoplasma sppma., Chlamyd , Rickettsia spp.
At parenteral use the maximum concentration of tylosin in fabrics is reached in 1-3 hours and remains at therapeutic level within 24 hours. It penetrates all organs and tissues except the brain, creating higher concentrations than in blood plasma. The highest concentrations of tylosin are observed in the lungs, liver, kidneys and intestinal wall. The concentration in the lungs is 2-3 times higher than the concentration in the blood. The antibiotic is stored for the longest time in the kidneys and lungs. It is excreted mainly in the urine and bile.
Indication
Treatment of pigs with erysipelas, dysentery, ileitis, leptospirosis, listeriosis, campylobacteriosis, colibacillosis, pasteurellosis, salmonellosis, infectious gastroenteritis, spirochete enterocolitis, atrophic rhinitis, enzootic pneumonia, chinucocytosis, microincymonia and actinoba .
Method of application and dosage
Before use, the solution is heated to a temperature of + 25-30 ° C and administered intramuscularly 1 time per day, the course – 3-5 days. The dose is 1.5 ml per 10 kg of body weight (13.1 mg of thiamulin, 9.4 mg of tylosin per 1 kg of body weight). In enzootic pneumonia, mycoplasmal arthritis, the dose is increased by 25-50%.
7-10 days after the end of treatment for dysentery or ileitis, it is advisable to repeat the treatment with the drug TimTil or other antimicrobial agent for oral administration ( Brovamulin-100 , Brovamulin-plus , etc.).
Reservation
Before using the drug it is necessary to test for susceptibility of pathogens to its active substances.
In some cases, at the injection site may appear mild edema, erythema, itching, which disappear after 2-3 days without special treatment.
After the last application of the drug, slaughter of animals for meat is allowed after 15 days. Meat obtained before this date is disposed of or fed to non-productive animals, depending on the conclusion of the veterinarian.
Contraindication
Do not prescribe to animals with hypersensitivity to the active substances of the drug, liver dysfunction, sows in the first month after insemination. Do not use simultaneously with penicillin, cephalosporin and lincomycin, as they reduce the antibacterial properties of the drug. Do not use at least 7 days before and after treatment with drugs containing monensin, narasin, salinomycin, etc.
Storage conditions
In a dry, dark place at a temperature of +5 to +25 ° C.
After opening the vial, store the drug in the refrigerator and use for 20 days.
Expiration date
3 years.
