ENCIN 10% (enrofloxacin) Oral solution for poultry, rabbits (Baytril analog), 1000 ml
Enteritis β Campylobacteriosis β Colibacteriosis β Mycoplasmosis β Pasteurellosis β Pneumonia β Streptococcus
Storage
1 ml of the drug contains:
enrofloxacin – 100 mg
Excipients: potassium hydroxide, n-butanol, highly purified water
Description
The liquid is light yellow or light brown, homogeneous, transparent.
Pharmacological properties
Enrofloxacin belongs to the group of fluoroquinolones and has a wide range of antibacterial and antimycoplasmic action.Β Inhibits the growth and development of gram-positive bacteria – Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus spp., Clostridium perfringens, Corynebacterium spp., Gram-negative bacteria – Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella spp., Pasteurellpa spp., Pasteurella spp. Klebsiella spp., Actinobacillis spp., Haemophilus spp., Mycoplasma spp.Β It has a bactericidal effect, including on microorganisms resistant to aminoglycoside and beta-lactam antibiotics, macrolides and tetracyclines.
The mechanism of action is to inhibit the activity of the enzyme DNA gyrase, which affects the replication of the DNA helix in the nucleus of the bacterial cell.Β This causes the blocking of biosynthesis in the cell and the death of the pathogenic microorganism.
When administered orally to animals with a single chamber stomach and poultry, enrofloxacin is rapidly and almost completely absorbed and penetrates into all organs and tissues of the body.Β The maximum concentration in the blood is observed one hour after ingestion, the half-life lasts about 6 hours, and the therapeutic concentration is maintained for 24 hours.Β At the end of treatment, the minimum inhibitory concentration of enrofloxacin is detected in the serum and organs up to 4 days.Β Excreted mainly unchanged in the urine, in part – in the bile.
Indication
Treatment for diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to enrofloxacin:
- poultry (broiler chickens, chickens, turkeys)Β – mycoplasmosis, chronic respiratory infections, colibacillosis, pasteurellosis, staphylococcus, campylobacteriosis;
- rabbitsΒ – diseases of the respiratory system and gastrointestinal tract.
Method of application and dosage
Before treatment, the watering system is emptied and filled with a solution of the drug with drinking water, which is prepared daily.Β Animals should only use it during treatment.
Before use, the vial with the drug is thoroughly shaken and used in the following doses:
- broiler chickens, chickens, turkeysΒ – 10 mg of enrofloxacin per 1 kg of body weight per day, the course – 3-5 days.Β For chronic infections and mixed infections, the course of treatment is 5 days.Β If the clinical symptoms of the disease have not disappeared after 2-3 days, the treatment regimen is changed;
- rabbitsΒ – 10 mg of enrofloxacin per 1 kg of body weight per day, the course – 5 days.
The daily dose for poultry/rabbits is calculated by the formula: a number of headsΒ ΓΒ average weight (kg)Β ΓΒ 0.1Β =Β total volume of the drug per day (ml)Β .

Reservation
When using the drug in the recommended doses, side effects and complications are usually not observed.Β Occasionally, short-term gastrointestinal dysfunction may occur.
Due to the possible development of resistant strains of microorganisms, enrofloxacin, like other fluoroquinolones, cannot be used in moderate infections.
The drug should be used only after receiving the results of the test for susceptibility of microorganisms to enrofloxacin.Β In birds, there is often a decrease in sensitivity to fluoroquinolones and the emergence of resistant strains of E. coli.Β Cases of resistance to fluoroquinolones Mycoplasma synoviae have been reported in the European Union.
After the last application of the drug, slaughter of broiler chickens for meat is allowed after 7 days, turkeys – after 13 days, rabbits – after 3 days, you can use eggs for incubation after 14 days.Β Meat obtained before this date is disposed of or fed to non-productive animals, depending on the conclusion of the veterinarian.
Contraindication
Do not use for prevention.
Do not prescribe to animals with hypersensitivity to the active substance of the drug and other quinolones, animals with hepatic and renal insufficiency, with signs of central nervous system diseases, insufficient development of cartilage and bone tissue, laying hens, eggs which are eaten by humans.
Do not use for the treatment of streptococcal infections and resistant strains of pathogenic bacteria resistant to quinolones.
Do not use simultaneously with tetracycline drugs, macrolides, chloramphenicol, theophylline and drugs containing cations MgΒ 2+Β , AlΒ 3+Β , CaΒ 2+Β , as this impairs the absorption of enrofloxacin.Β Do not mix with Marek’s vaccine.
