      Livestock, Farm & Poultry

Good health is the main requirement for any animal to develop its genetic potential. It is certainly associated with feed conversion, daily weight gains, and uniformity. Health also depends on the diet, this is especially true for the prevention of risks and diseases. Health can be affected by almost any component of animal husbandry, and animal feeding can help strengthen it.

Many countries have either completely abandoned the use of antibiotic growth promoters, or are gradually withdrawing them from use. Strategies to replace them should take into account all the functions that such stimulants had or could have had.

The program for the use of alternatives to antibiotic growth promoters requires a comprehensive approach, including the introduction of control procedures and the use of alternative products instead of such stimulants. Success depends on applying the most optimal production methods.

Feed ingredients that may be useful include:

prebiotics to support beneficial intestinal flora

probiotics or active microorganisms, providing a direct influence on intestinal microflora

beta-glucans, which play the role of immunomodulators for optimum immune system

connecting the mycotoxins are chemicals that control the risks caused by mycotoxins

the butyrate that support optimal gut integrity

organic acids, in combination with functional ingredients, improving taste, controlling the presence of enterobacteria.

      Stress prevention

There are many stressful or unfavorable conditions in the life of an animal. To ensure good health and high productivity, it is necessary to control these adverse situations. Critical moments may include, for example, early life, periods of intensive vaccination, stress during transportation, or longer periods, such as being kept in inappropriate conditions.

If these stressful situations are not properly controlled, they can negatively affect productivity in the short and long term. Reduced milk and meat productivity, egg production.
