Pharmacological properties: Birch tar has a strong antiseptic, local irritant, anti-inflammatory, insecticidal, antiparasitic and disinfectant action, improves blood circulation, stimulates the regeneration of the epidermis of damaged tissues, enhances keratinization, dries wounds and accelerates them. In small concentrations (3-5%) activates the growth of granulation, in large (above 10%) - sharply weakens.
Application: Externally for the treatment of skin diseases in animals: eczema, dermatomycoses (trichophytia, microspores), scabies, furunculosis, pyoderma, bedsores, burns, ulcers, frostbite, wound infections, limb wounds, cracks in horses' hooves, hooves in cattle and others. Internally, it is prescribed as an anti-fermentation and disinfectant for horses, small cattle, pigs, dogs and chickens. For disinfection of premises, livestock yards, animal care items.
For the treatment and control of Roundworms (Toxocara Canis, Toxascaris leonina), Hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala), some Tapeworms (Taenia pisiformis), Whipworms (Trichuris vulpis) and Giardia.
