Baycox 5% is administered orally to Rabbits. Piglets and young cattle up to 9 months of age with therapeutic and curative purposes for coccidiosis.
To achieve the maximum preventive effect and reduce the size of oocysts – the stage of development of protozoan cells released into the external environment, in unfavorable coccidiotic farms, the drug should be administered to animals before the first clinical signs of the disease appear in the herd.
Pharmacological action:
Baycox 5% oral is prescribed to piglets and young cattle, Rabbits.
Baycox 5% oral is a coccidiostatic drug from the triazintrion group.
Toltrazuril, which is part of the drug, has a wide spectrum of anti-coccidal action, is effective against Isospora suis, Eimeria arloingi, Eimeria scabra, Eimeria guevarai, Eimeria bovis, Eimeria zuernii, Eimeria alabamensis and other types of coccidia that parasitize pigs and cattle at the stages of their intracellular development.
By blocking respiratory enzymes, toltrazuril has a damaging effect on the mitochondria and the processes of nuclear division of coccidia, disrupting the formation of macrogammetocytes.
After oral administration of Baycox, 5% toltrazuril is slowly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and has a coccidivating effect on the mucous membrane and submucosal layer.
It is partially metabolized in the body by sulfoxidation and hydroxylation to form sulfide and sulfone derivatives.
Toltrazuril is excreted from the body mainly in unchanged form (70%), but also as metabolites in the feces and partially in the urine.
Dose:
Pigs on the 3rd-5th day of life at a dose of 20 mg of toltrazuril per 2.2 pounds (1 kg) of animal weight,
based on 0.4 ml of suspension per 2.2 lb (1 kg) of weight, but not less than 0.5 ml and not more than 2 ml per animal.
Once-verbally.
Cattle from 2 weeks of age at a dose of 15 mg of toltrazuril per 2.2 pounds (1 kg) of animal weight,
at the rate of 3 ml of suspension per 22 pounds (10 kg) of animal weight.

Rabbits – the suspension of the drug is not bred, but fed to rabbits in the form in which the drug is in the bottle.
In this case, the dose is calculated based on the rabbit’s body weight of 0.2 ml per 2.2 lb (1 kg) of body weight.

Specific instructions:
It is forbidden to use Baycox 5% for dairy cattle because of its excretion with milk;
the drug should not be used in ruminants with developed Cicatricial digestion.
Rabbits can be slaughtered for meat no earlier than 77 days after the last day of prevention or treatment.
Slaughter of pigs for meat is allowed no earlier than 91 days after the application of Baycox 5%.
The meat of animals that were unwittingly killed earlier can be used for the production of meat and bone meal.
Storage:
Store the medicine in a tightly closed bottle, away from sunlight.
The storage area should be dry, the temperature inside
