Composition
1 g of the drug contains:
ichthyol – 100 mg
Description
Ointment of dark brown color, creamy consistency, with a specific odor.
APPLICATION
Method of administration and dosage
The drug is used externally after aseptic treatment of the affected skin area. The ointment is applied in a thin layer to the affected area 1-2 times a day. Use gauze bandages if necessary. The duration of the course of treatment is determined by the nature of the disease.
Cautions
Personnel in contact with the drug must comply with the hygiene and safety rules adopted when working with veterinary drugs.
Pharmacological properties
The drug has anti-inflammatory, local anesthetic and mild antiseptic effect. When applied to wounds, it constricts peripheral blood vessels, reduces exudation and accelerates regenerative processes.
Indications
Treatment of cattle, horses, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs with dermatitis, furunculosis, eczema, phlegmon, arthritis, tendovaginitis, frostbite, thermal and chemical burns.
