oxytetracycline for bees (2 GRAMS)
Composition and release form: 1 gram of the drug contains about 860 mg of the active substance. It is produced in the form of a yellow powder with a slight specific odor. The drug is packed in hermetically sealed cellophane bags. One package contains 2 grams of the drug.
The action of the drug: oxytetracycline inhibits the reproduction of gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms. The drug is completely non-toxic to bees, the use of the drug in accordance with the instructions does not have a negative effect on the state, productivity and general development of bees.
Direct indications for the use of the drug are European and American foulbrood, as well as other bacterial diseases of bees.
Dosage and method of application: treatment of bees with oxytetracycline is carried out in the spring, even before the start of honey collection. Also, the processing of bees can be carried out in the summer, after the end of pumping out commercial honey.
Before starting treatment of bees with the drug, they should be driven into clean, disinfected hives and the old queens should be replaced with healthy ones. It is possible to treat bees with the drug by feeding it, spraying or dusting the bee colonies. The treatment is carried out on the basis of the calculation of 0.5 grams of the drug per colony of 10 streets. The most effective way to treat bees with the drug is by spraying. To treat bees by spraying, the drug is dissolved in a small amount of warm water (boiled) and added to the main amount of water, based on the calculation of 10-15 ml of the resulting solution per 1 frame. The spraying process should be carried out using fine sprayers such as “Rosinka”. They provide uniform spraying of bee colonies. The place where the infected brood was located should be moistened very thoroughly.
If you decide to treat the bees by dusting, the preparation should be mixed with powdered sugar (5-6 g of powder per frame).
To treat bees by feeding oxytetracycline, the required amount of the drug must be dissolved in a small amount of warm water, mixed with 50% concentration of sugar syrup, and fed to the bees with the calculation of 100 ml of the mixture per 1 frame.
The process of treating bees is repeated 3-4 times with an interval of 6-7 days until all signs of the disease disappear completely. At the same time, complete disinfection of all working equipment, hives and honeycombs should be carried out. Hive garbage and podmor are burned.
The shelf life of the drug: 2 years from the date of manufacture. Store in a place well protected from direct sunlight, at a temperature not exceeding 35 ° С
