Onsior tablets refers to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
Robenacoxib, which is part of the drug, is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug of the coxibs group, is a selective specific inhibitor of COX-2 and has anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. COX is presented in two forms: COX-1 – a constitutive form of the enzyme – performs protective functions, including in the gastrointestinal tract and kidneys; COX-2, an inducible form of the enzyme, is responsible for the production of mediators, including PGEg, that cause pain, inflammation, and fever. When administered orally, robenacoxib is rapidly absorbed in the intestine, entering the systemic circulation and most organs and tissues; more than 99% of robenacoxib binds to plasma proteins. Its maximum plasma concentration is observed after 0.5 hours, bioavailability is 49% in cats and 62% in dogs when using tablets with food and 84% without food. Robenacoxib is metabolized in the liver, excreted mainly in the bile (about 70% in cats and about 65% in dogs) and partially in the urine; the elimination half-life from the body of dogs is about 1.2 hours, cats – 1.7 hours. Onsior™ tablets, according to the degree of impact on the body, are classified as moderately hazardous substances (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007).
