Combined insect-acaricidal preparation for dogs, triple protection against ticks, fleas and mosquitoes.
The unique combination of permethrin and imidacloprid, discovered by Bayer scientists, provides maximum effectiveness of the drug, in which the active substances enhance each other’s effectiveness.
The insecticidal and acaricidal properties of Advantix cause the death of 98 to 100% of fleas, ticks and mosquitoes that hit the animal’s body before the bite.
The active substance accumulates not only in the sebaceous glands, but also in the hair follicles, which increases the degree and quality of distribution of the drug on the surface: it spreads not only on the skin but also along the entire length of hair (well suited for long-haired dogs).
Permethrin, which is part of the drug, has a pronounced water-repellent effect, so Advantix is not washed off with water.
Advantix is the only drug that protects a dog from mosquitoes that can infect an animal with heartworm disease (heartworms).
Imidacloprid, which is part of the drug is the most effective and fast-acting component that kills fleas, has an umbrella effect, ie destroys the larvae of parasites on litter and in animal habitats.
Not absorbed into the blood, approved for use even in allergic / flea dermatitis and other skin lesions.
Imidacloprid 10%, permethrin 50%.
How to use
Dosing and administration:
The drug is applied by topical (drip) application of the drug on the skin. Before use, pierce the protective membrane of the spout of the tube-pipette (putting on the cap on the back), spreading the hair and pressing on the tube-pipette, the drug is applied to the skin in a place inaccessible to licking animals (between the shoulder blades). When handling large dogs, the contents of the pipette tube are applied to the skin in three to four places along the back. The death of parasitic insects on the animal occurs within 12 hours, the death or detachment of Ixodes mites within 48 hours after treatment.
The protective effect of the drug against lice, fleas, hairflies, two-winged insects, as well as Ixodes mites after a single treatment of the animal lasts 4 – 6 weeks.
Repeated treatments of animals are carried out according to the indications, but not more often than once a month.
Depending on the weight of the animal, Advantix is used in different packaging.
You can bathe your dog with shampoo before Advantix treatment or 2 weeks after treatment.
Not allowed for use in patients with infectious diseases and recovering animals, as well as puppies under 7 weeks of age.
The drug is well tolerated by dogs in therapeutic and 5 times its doses. In rare cases, after the use of the drug, individual skin reactions (redness, itching) are possible, which involuntarily pass within 1-4 days and do not require the use of drugs.
Due to the possible contamination of tissues, plastics and other materials with the drug, the treated animal should not be allowed to come into contact with the surrounding objects until the drug is completely dry at the treatment site. Do not smoke, drink or eat while working with the drug. Wash hands thoroughly with warm soapy water after use. The animal should not be petted or allowed to reach young children for 24 hours after treatment. In case of accidental contact with the skin or eyes, it should be immediately rinsed with running water, if ingested – consult a doctor. Empty pipette tubes from under the drug should not be used for household purposes, they are closed with caps and thrown in garbage containers.
