Tiamulin Powder Bramulin-100 for pigs, poultry
Arthritis; leptospirosis; mycoplasmosis; pneumonia; sinusitis
1 g of the drug contains:
tiamulin hydrogen fumarate – 100 mg
The white powder, with a slight specific odor, dissolves in water.
Tiamulin is a semi-synthetic antibiotic, belongs to the group of pleuromutilin and acts bacteriostatically. The mechanism of action is the connection with the 50S ribosomal subunit of bacteria, which causes disruption of protein synthesis in the bacterial cell. The drug is active against most gram-positive cocci, including Staphylococcus spp. and Streptococcus spp., mycoplasmas Mycoplasma hypopneumoniae, M. hyorhinis, M. synoviae, M. hyosynoviae, Ureaplasma spp., spirochetes Serpulina hyodysenteriae, S. innocens. Has low activity against gram-negative microorganisms, with the exception of Haemophilus spp. and some strains of E. coli, Klebsiella spp.
After oral administration, it is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Approximately 85% is absorbed, the maximum concentration in the blood is observed in 2-4 hours after application of the drug. Tiamulin is well distributed throughout the body, its highest concentration is found in the lungs. It is metabolized to form about 20 metabolites, some of which have antibacterial activity. About 30% of metabolites are excreted in the urine, the rest – in the feces.
Method of application and dose
The drug is used with drinking water or feed mainly by the group method. When preparing the therapeutic-feed mixture, the drug should be thoroughly mixed with compound feed. It is possible to store and use such LKS within a month. Doses of the drug for different species of animals are given in the table.
|Animal species and diseases||A dose of the drug,||A dose of the active substance||Application|
|g/100 kg of feed||mg/1 kg of body weight|
|• Piglets up to 50 kg||100-120||05.июн||3-4 days|
|• Pigs over 50 kg||60-80||03.апр||5 days|
|acute form of respiratory disease||200||10||7-10 days|
|Broiler chickens, laying hens, turkeys:|
When used with drinking water, the daily therapeutic dose is:
• pigs – 1 g per 1 liter of water;
• bird – 1 g per 2 liters of water.
Before preparing the treatment solution, a concentrate is prepared: the calculated amount of the drug is placed in a plastic or enameled dish and topped up with water at a temperature of + 40-45 ° C in a ratio of 1:10 and mixed. The resulting mixture is added to the daily norm of water.
Treatment and prevention of animals with diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to tiamulin:
• pigs – dysentery, enzootic pneumonia, leptospirosis, pleuropneumonia, arthritis;
• poultry (laying hens, broiler chickens, turkeys) – chronic respiratory mycoplasmosis, infectious sinusitis, infectious synovitis.
Do not use in animals with hypersensitivity to thiamulin, pregnant sows during the first month of pregnancy, breeding boars, laying hens during the laying period. Do not use monensin, narasin and salinomycin in pigs and poultry for at least 7 days before and after tiamulin treatment.
In a dry, dark place, out of reach of children at a temperature of +4 to +25 ° C.
