Pharmacological properties
Hexamethylenetetramine in a neutral and weakly acidic environment decomposes with the release of formaldehyde and ammonia. The latter has an antimicrobial, moderately diuretic effect and reduces the barrier activity of cell membranes, so that in general toxic processes, toxic substances are relatively easy to enter the blood and excreted from the body. The action begins 40 minutes after administration and lasts 6-12 hours.
Indication
Used as an antiseptic for cattle, horses, sheep, goats, dogs, chickens in infectious processes of the urinary tract (cystitis, pyelitis), cholecystitis, meningitis, encephalitis, arachnoiditis, allergic skin diseases (urticaria, erythema, polymorphic and , keratitis), poisoning, toxicoinfections, inflammation of muscles and joints.
Method of application and dosage
Before use, the drug is heated to the body temperature of the animal and administered intravenously in the following doses per 1 animal:
- cattle, horses – 25-50 ml;
- sheep, goats – 5-12 ml.
When administered orally, the dose per 1 animal is:
- dogs – 2-5 ml;
- chicken – 0.1 ml.

After opening the vial, store the drug in the refrigerator and use within 24 hours.
