Description
The ointment is white with a yellowish tinge, creamy consistency, with a specific odor.
Pharmacological properties
Streptocid belongs to sulfonamides, has a wide spectrum of antimicrobial action, is active against gram-positive microorganisms Streptococcus spp., Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium spp. etc., gram-negative microorganisms E. coli, Salmonella spp., Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., Pasteurella spp., Bordetella spp. etc. Almost inactive against staphylococci.
Streptocide acts bacteriostatically, preventing the use of para-aminobenzoic acid by microorganisms for the synthesis of dihydrofolic acid, which is involved in the synthesis of pyrimidine bases of DNA and RNA of a microbial cell.

Method of administration and dosage
