Description
Works to increase cardiac output, which lightens the workload of your dog’s heart. Vetmedin may also help your dog with congestive heart failure so she can feel better and improve her quality of life.
Uses
Vetmedin is used to treat dogs with mild, moderate, or severe congestive heart failure due to atrioventricular valvular insufficiency or dilated cardiomyopathy.

Precautions
The safety of Vetmedin has not been established in dogs with asymptomatic heart disease or in heart failure caused by etiologies other than AVVI or DCM. The safe use of Vetmedin has not been evaluated in dogs younger than 6 months of age, dogs with congenital heart defects, dogs with diabetes mellitus or other serious metabolic diseases, dogs who breed, pregnant or lactating females.
Recommended Dosage
Vetmedin is typically used twice daily or every twelve hours, but your veterinarian will decide the exact dosage that will work for your dog. Do not stop the medication or decrease the dose unless instructed to do so by your veterinarian. Your veterinarian may ask you to break Vetmedin in half.
Storage Instructions
Store at temperatures between 68° – 77°F.
