      What is deworming?

This is a therapeutic and preventive measure aimed at improving or preventing parasitosis (destruction of helminths(worms)) in animals. This is an integral part of taking care of your pet, supporting its healthy life, which should not be forgotten.

At what age should animals be dewormed?

The first deworming of animals should be carried out before the first vaccination and it is done at 2 months, and accordingly, 10-14 days before it, it is necessary to make deworming, which will correspond to the 3-week age of the animal.

Further, preventive deworming is recommended to be done once a quarter (every 3 months) if the animal goes outside or lives with other animals that have access to the street, or once every six months if the animal does not go outside.

If deworming is carried out for therapeutic purposes (that is, the animal has helminths), then you must first give an anthelmintic drug, then repeat the dacha in 10 days, if this did not help, then repeat the dacha of the drug in 10 days. And in this case, each time it is recommended to give a different drug for worms, this increases the effect of getting rid of parasites.

What kind of Anthelmintics are there?

All anthelmintic are drugs which are based on the active substance, destroy the adult forms of parasitic worms, or prevent their future functioning.

Currently, the question of greater effectiveness of a particular drug is not relevant – they are all equally effective. This criterion is important only when a certain type of parasitic worms is detected by laboratory examination of feces in sick animals. In this case, your doctor will prescribe the drugs that most effectively destroy this type of parasite.

For preventive deworming, you choose the type of drug that is suitable for your animal’s age, as well as the most convenient to use and calculate the dose.
