Bravecto Spot-On belongs to the systemic insect acaricidal drugs. The composition of the drug includes the active substance fluralaner – an insectocaricide of the isoxazoline group, active against fleas (Ctenocephalides felis and Ctenocephalides canis) and Ixodes ticks (adults and larvae of Ixodes ricinus, Ixodes hexagonus, Ixodes scapularis, Ixodes holocyclus, Dermacentor reticulatus, Dermacentor variabilis and Rhipicephalus sanguineus ), parasitizing dogs.
The mechanism of action of fluralaner consists in blocking GABA-dependent and glutamate-dependent receptors of arthropods. The drug acts as a hyperexciter on neurons, disrupts the transmission of nerve impulses, which leads to paralysis and death of ectoparasites.
Bravecto Spot-On very effectively destroys adult fleas, and is also used for the treatment and prevention of flea infestation (Ctenocephalides felis), for the treatment and fight against tick infestation (Ixodes scapularis, Dermacentor variabilis, Rhipicephalus sanguineus) for 12 weeks. The drug is also effective for the treatment and control of Amblyomma americanum tick infestation within 8 weeks.
In terms of the degree of impact on the body, Bravecto belongs to the “low-hazard” substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), in recommended doses it does not cause a violation of embryonic development, and it also does not have mutagenic effects.
