Gelmisun Dewormer for Horses pyrantel pamoate + praziquantel

1 ml of the drug contains:

pyrantel pamoate – 300 mg

praziquantel – 20 mg

Method of administration and dosage
The drug is injected with a syringe-tube on the root of the tongue, once, for invasions caused by the larvae of Trihostrongylus axei – twice, every other day. The therapeutic and prophylactic dose is 1 ml per 20 kg of body weight.

Prophylactic deworming of adult horses is carried out once every 3-4 months.

For deworming wild animals, the calculated dose is mixed with a moistened compound feed and fed during the morning feeding individually or in a group.

Cautions
After the last use of the drug, the slaughter of animals for meat is allowed after 7 days. Meat obtained earlier than the specified period is disposed of or fed to unproductive animals, depending on the conclusion of the veterinarian.

Description
The gel is light yellow, homogeneous, odorless.

Pharmacological properties
Pyrantel pamoate is a pyrimidine derivative. It acts on round helminths (sexually mature and larvae of the 4th stage) as a depolarizing muscle relaxant, causing neuromuscular blockade, which leads to the death of nematodes.

Praziquantel is a quinoline derivative. Increases the permeability of cell membranes for calcium ions in cestodes and trematodes, which leads to generalized muscle contraction, paralysis of helminths, and their death. It causes vacuolization and damage to the epithelium of parasites, as a result they become sensitive to enzymes of the gastrointestinal tract.

Indications
Treatment and prevention of horses, ponies, kulans, Przewalski’s horses in case of defeat by endo- and ectoparasites:

• nematodes of the gastrointestinal tract of the families Ascaridae, Strongylidae, Cyathostomidae (Trihonematidae), Strongyloididae, Oxyuridae, Spiruridae;

• cestodes of the Anoplocephalidae family;

• trematodes of the families Schistosomatidae, Dicrocoeliidae;

• larvae of gadflies Gasterophilus spp.

Contraindications
Do not administer to clinically sick and malnourished animals, females in the last week of pregnancy.

Storage conditions
Store in a dry place, protected from direct sunlight, out of reach of children, at temperatures from +1 to +25 ° C.

Shelf life
2 years.
