Pharmacological properties

Combined anthelmintic drug with a broad spectrum of action on round and tapeworms of all phases of development.

Praziquantel – a synthetic compound derived from quinoline, disrupts the permeability of helminth cell membranes to calcium ions, which leads to inhibition of glucose metabolism, destruction of cell membranes in parasites, their paralysis and death. It is well absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and reaches its maximum concentration in blood plasma in 1-3 hours, the bioavailability of praziquantel is about 80%. Metabolized in the liver with the formation of inactive metabolites, excreted in the urine, partly in the feces. The half-life is about 1.5 hours.

Pyrantel pamoate – a derivative of tetrahydropyrimidine, active against nematodes of all forms of development, blocks the transmission of nerve impulses in neuromuscular synapses by depolarizing the membranes of muscle cells, thereby causing paralysis of the muscular system of nematodes. It is almost not absorbed from the intestine, due to which the anthelmintic effect is prolonged. Excreted mainly unchanged (up to 93%) in the feces.

Method of application and dosage

Before use, the suspension is shaken and given before the morning feeding individually, once, with a small amount of food or forced to the root of the tongue with a measuring beaker or syringe without a needle.

The dose is 1 ml per 3 kg of body weight, for small animals – 0.33 ml (14-15 drops) per 1 kg of body weight. At strong invasiveness processing is repeated in 10 days.

Preventive deworming is carried out quarterly, as well as 12-14 days before vaccination.

It is not necessary to apply a starvation diet or laxatives before drug administration.

Reservation

In some animals, with severe invasion due to intoxication, urticaria, itching in the anus, anxiety, diarrhea, and sometimes vomiting may occur. These symptoms disappear without special treatment.

Indication

Treatment and prevention of dogs and cats with nematodes (toxocariasis, toxocariasis, uncinariosis, trichocephaly, hookworm), cestodes (teniidosis, dipilidiosis, echinococcosis, diphyllobotriasis, mesocestoidosis) and mixed nematodes Uncinaria spp., Trichuris vulpis, Ancylostoma spp., Echinococcus granulosus, Alveococcus multilocularis, Mesocestoides lineatus, Dipylidium caninum, Diphyllobotrium latum, Multiceps multiceps, Taenia spp.

Contraindication

Do not use in animals with hypersensitivity to the active substances of the drug, females in the first half of pregnancy and within two weeks after birth, puppies and kittens under 3 weeks, depleted animals and animals with infectious diseases.

Do not use simultaneously with piperazine and drugs that inhibit cholinesterase.

Storage conditions

In a dry, dark place, out of reach of children, separate from food and feed at a temperature of +4 to +25 ° C.

After opening the vial, store the drug in the refrigerator and use for 30 days.
