Diseases of bees;Β Varroatosis;Β Ectoparasites
Structure
Each strip contains:
flumethrin – 3.6 mg
Description
Light yellow wooden stripes.
Pharmacological properties
Flumethrin is a synthetic pyrethroid that has a reliable contact insecticidal and acaricidal action againstΒ Varroa DestructorΒ varroatosis pathogensΒ .Β Differs in high acaricidal activity – up to 100%.Β It paralyzes the nervous system of ticks and significantly reduces their population.Β Works exclusively againstΒ Varroa DestructorΒ mitesΒ and does not harm bee colonies.Β There are no data on acquired resistance of ticks to flumethrin.
Indications
Diagnostics, prevention and treatment ofΒ beesΒ with varroatosis.
Method of administration and dosage
Immediately before use, the strips are depressurized, placed between honeycomb frames – one strip through two frames.
Treatment of bee colonies with the drug is carried out:
- in early spring, when larvae, prepupae and pupae occupy an insignificant area in the bee colony;
- in summer (late July – early August), when the uterus lay eggs in limited quantities, the area occupied by the larvae, prepupae and pupae is insignificant, and the rest of the area is filled with honey;Β most female mites are found on bees;Β processing is carried out immediately after pumping honey from the main bee honey plant;
- in autumn (September), when the area occupied by bee larvae, prepupae and pupae decreases significantly.
Doses of the drug depend on the strength of the bee colony:
- layering, weak bee colonyΒ – 1-4 strips;
- normally developed, strong bee colonyΒ – 2-4 stripes.
The strips are kept in the hive for 35 days or longer, but no more than 6 weeks.
