Description
Solution for external use.
Structure
1 ml of the drug contains an active ingredient; fipronil – 100 mg
Excipients: povidone K25, polysorbate 80, butylhydroxytoluene, butylhydroxyanisole, ethanol 96%, diethylene glycol monoethyl ether.
Pharmacological properties
ATCvetQP53AX, other topical ectoparasitic preparations (ATCvetQP53AX15 – fipronil).
Fipronil is a pyrazole derivative with insecticidal and acaricidal action. It disrupts the process of passage of chlorine ions in GABA – dependent receptors of ectoparasites, the transmission of nerve impulses and the activity of the nervous system, causing their death. Does not affect the mammalian central nervous system.
After application to the skin, the drug accumulates in the epidermis, hair follicles and sebaceous glands of the animal and has a long-term contact insectoacaricidal effect. Fipronil spreads over the skin and hair of animals from the area of application to the peripheral areas (lumbar area, groin area). The concentration of fipronil in the coat of dogs is reduced to 3-4 μg / g 56 days after the application of the drug.
In terms of the degree of effect on the body, Fiprist® Spot-on for dogs belongs to moderately hazardous substances (safety class 3), when applied to the skin in the recommended doses, it does not have a local irritating and resorptive-toxic effect, and when it gets into the eyes it causes irritation. The drug is toxic to fish and bees.
