Frontline Spot is an insectoacaricidal preparation containing fipronil as a virgin substance, as well as excipients and solvents.
Frontline Spot is a colorless transparent liquid with a weak specific odor.
Fipronil, which is part of the drug, blocks the GABA receptors of the parasite and has a pronounced insecticidal and acaricidal effect against lice, fleas, lice and ticks (ixodid, cheilitella, otodectose) parasitizing on dogs and cats. The drug is effective at all stages of parasite development.
Frontline Spot is not a systemic drug, it accumulates in the epidermis and sebaceous glands of the animal and has a contact insectoacaricidal effect on ectoparasites.
Frontline Spot, within 24 hours, is gradually distributed over the entire surface of the body and ensures the protection of animals from ectoparasites, the duration of animal protection from ticks in cats is 15-21 days, in dogs 2-2.5 months.
Repeated processing of animals is carried out after the expiration of the specified periods.
Frontline Spot, according to the degree of impact on the body, belongs to the group of low-toxic substances according to GOST 12.1.007.76, does not have skin-resorptive, sensitizing, embryotoxic, teratogenic and mutagenic effects. Causes slight irritation in eye contact.
Frontline Spot is used to combat fleas, lice, lice and ticks (ixodid, cheilitella, otodectosis) in dogs by topical (point) application of the drug to the skin. Before processing, the tip of the pipette is broken off, the animal’s hair is pushed apart in the region of the back (between the shoulder blades) and the preparation is applied to one or more points by pressing the pipette. Depending on the type and weight of animals, Frontline Spot pipettes are used of various sizes:
Frontline Spot is used to treat otodectosis (ear scabies). For this purpose, 4-6 drops are instilled into each ear (drops must be injected into both ears). To evenly distribute the preparation, fold the auricle in half and lightly massage its base, apply the remainder to the skin between the shoulder blades (single treatment).
Frontline Spot is not allowed for use in puppies under 8 weeks of age.
It is not recommended to wash animals within 48 hours after treatment with the drug.
There are no side effects and complications in animals when using Frontline Spot.
When working with the drug, you should follow the rules of hygiene and personal safety provided for working with veterinary medicinal products. The animal should not be stroked within 24 hours after treatment.
