All about Wild animals

Wild animals are objects of the animal world, which include animals whose natural habitat is wild nature, as well as those in a state of natural freedom, kept in semi-free conditions or in captivity.

The usual names of animals: cat, badger, bear – indicate the genus. This taxon combines closely related species descended from the same ancestor. The number of species in genera varies. Some have a single species – a monotypic genus (elk, nutria, and other animals).

Other genera consist of several species (tiger cats – 11 species, bears – 4 species and dozens of subspecies). If there are few species, it is an oligotypic genus, and when there are many species, the genus is called polytypic. A large genus consists of subgenera that consist of closely related species.

Family

Animals from genera with the same origin and similar appearance make up one family. Numerous families are formed by subfamilies. The name of the family is given by the genus: cats are included in the cat family, the deer family includes: elk, maral, musk deer, reindeer and American deer.

Often the family name displays:

Animal appearance: the Fan-tailed bird family or the Whitefly butterfly family.

Or habits: a family of spiders-Gobblers or roundworms.

Some names suggest the animal’s way of life: a Family of waterfowl or Tree-climbing frogs.
