1 ml of the drug contains:
amitraz – 125 mg
Excipients: nonylphenol, orthoxylol
Description
The liquid is light yellow, transparent, with a specific odor.
Pharmacological properties
Amitraz is an organic compound of synthetic origin from the group of amidines, acaricide of systemic and contact action. Blocks octopamine receptors of arthropods, which leads to impaired conduction of nerve impulses, loss of motor reflexes, paralysis and death of the parasite.
It has a wide range of acaricidal action against ticks of most species that parasitize on animals, as well as Varroa destructor mites that parasitize on honey bees.
When used in the recommended doses, residues of the drug almost do not accumulate in honey, persimmon and wax and do not exceed the accepted maximum allowable levels.
Indication
Treatment of bees affected by Varroa destructor mites.
Contraindication
Do not use during the main medical collection.
Method of application and dosage
The drug is used after the main honey harvest, when the number of bee brood is minimal. Before use, prepare an aqueous emulsion – 1 ml of the drug is thoroughly mixed with 2 liters of drinking water and sprayed from a syringe with a needle. The dose is 10 ml of emulsion in each interval between the cells of the hive. The treatment is carried out twice with an interval of 7 days.
If Varroa mites are detected during an audit, which is carried out before the bees are laid for the winter, all disadvantaged families are treated once.
Selective treatment of bee colonies affected by Varroa mites detected during the main spring inspection of the apiary after the first flight of bees is allowed.
