Composition and description:
Pharmasin 50 – a drug containing as active substance the antibiotic tylosin in the form of a base in an organic solvent. Pharmasin 50 contains 50 mg of tylosin in 1 ml. The drug is an injectable solution of pale yellow color.
Pharmacological properties:
Tylosin is an antibiotic from the group of macrolides, active against most gram-positive and some gram-negative bacteria, including staphylococci, streptococci, corynebacteria, clostridia, pasteurella, erysipelotrix, spirochetes, chlamydia, treponema chyodysentery and my dysentery. When administered intramuscularly, the antibiotic is well absorbed from the injection site into the blood and penetrates into almost all organs and tissues of the body. The highest levels of tylosin are achieved in the lungs, liver, mammary glands and kidneys. After a single injection, the therapeutic concentration of the antibiotic is maintained in the body for at least 20 hours. In addition, due to the peculiarities of the mechanism of action, Farmazin 50 selectively accumulates in tissues with low pH values, ie in the foci of inflammation, providing a targeted effect. Pharmasin 50 also has a non-specific immunostimulatory and immunomodulatory effect by reducing cytokines, activation of plasma cells and antibody production, activation of leukocyte chemotaxis and proliferation of lymphoid elements. Pharmasin 50 in extremely high concentrations accumulates in the lysosomes of neutrophils, ensuring the completion of phagocytosis and rapid elimination of bacterial pathogens. The special composition of the organic solvent in injectable Farmazin provides high storage stability, optimal consistency for comfortable filling of the syringe, and is completely painless for animal injection. The drug is excreted mainly in the feces, in smaller quantities in urine and milk. activation of leukocyte chemotaxis and proliferation of lymphoid elements. Tylosin is effective against gram-positive and some gram-negative microorganisms: Corynebacterium spp., Clostridium spp., Erysipelothrix spp., Pasteurella spp., Vibrio spp., Leptospira spp., Brucella spp., Neisseria spp., Haemophilus spp... And against rickettsiae (Rickettsia spp.), spirochetes (Spirochaeta (Borrelia anserina, Brachyspira hyodysenteriae)), and mycoplasmas (M. gallisepticum, M. synoviae, M. meleagridis, etc..). In other words, tylosin exhibits bacteriostatic effect by inhibition of protein synthesis (via the irreversible connection with bacterial 50S ribosomal subunits) and microbial cell growth and reproduction, respectively.
