Pharmacological properties
Tylosin is a mixture of macrolide antibiotics produced by the Streptomyces fradiae strain, which mainly includes Tylosin A. Tylosin is effective against gram-positive and some gram-negative microorganisms: Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Corynebacterium spp., Closturepprium spp. Sppripprium. ., Vibrio spp., Leptospira spp., Brucella spp., Neisseria spp., Haemophilus spp., Moraxella spp., and against Mycoplasma (Mycoplasma spp.), chlamydia (Chlamydia spp.), Rickettsia (Rickettsia spp.) spirochetes’
Application
Cattle, sheep, goats: treatment of animals with bronchopneumonia, pneumoenteritis, metritis, arthritis, necrotic pododermatitis, contagious agalactia, mastitis, diphtheria of calves, pleuropneumonia of goats, interstitial pneumonia in calves, chlamydia infections, abortions sensitive to microorganisms .
Pigs: treatment of animals with enzootic pneumonia, enteritis, dysentery, atrophic rhinitis, erysipelas, staphylococcal arthritis, leptospirosis, MMA syndrome caused by microorganisms sensitive to tylosin.
Dogs, cats: treatment of animals with diseases of the digestive tract and respiratory organs, as well as animals with otitis, cystitis, metritis, dermatitis, leptospirosis caused by microorganisms sensitive to tylosin.
The drug is also used to treat surgical infections and secondary bacterial infections in viral diseases.
Dosage
Intramuscularly once a day in doses:
cattle-1-2 ml of the drug per 10 kg of body weight;
sheep, goats-1.0-2.0 ml of the drug per 10 kg of body weight;
pigs – 2.0 ml of the drug per 10 kg of body weight;
dogs and cats-1.0-2.0 ml of the drug per 10 kg of body weight.
The drug is discontinued 24 hours after the disappearance of symptoms, but not later than 5 days after use.
Do not inject more than 20 ml to adult cattle in one part of the body; calves, sheep, goats-more than 15 ml; piglets, pigs-more than 10 ml of the drug; dogs, cats-more than 5 ml. If the required dose is greater than the permissible one, then it is divided and administered in several places.
Contraindications
Do not use in animals with hypersensitivity to tylosin.
Do not apply to animals in the first week of life.
Do not use simultaneously with penicillins, cephalosporins and lincomycin due to a marked decrease in the antibacterial effect of tylosin.
Do not use for horses, rabbits, Guinea pigs, hamsters.
Warnings
Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed 8 days after the last use of the drug. The use of milk in food is allowed to people 4 days after the last use of the drug. Meat and milk received before the specified period is disposed of or fed to unproductive animals, depending on the conclusion of the veterinarian.
