Description
Red-brown liquid.
Pharmacological properties
The complex compound of iron hydroxide and low molecular weight dextran replenishes iron deficiency, stimulates the hematopoietic system, increases hemoglobin, increases the number of erythrocytes and improves the safety of young domestic animals.
Method of application and dosage
Before use, the drug is warmed to the body temperature of the animal and injected deep intramuscularly into the thigh or neck.
The prophylactic dose is administered once and is (per 1 animal):
- sowsΒ 3-4 weeks before farrowing – 10 ml;
- pigletsΒ aged 3-4 days – 1.5-2 ml;
- calvesΒ aged 5-6 days – 8-10 ml;
- lambsΒ aged 3-5 days – 2-3 ml;
- minkΒ – 0.3-0.5 ml.
For the treatment of animals with signs of anemia, the drug is administered in these doses 2-3 times at weekly intervals.
Reservation
At the injection site there may be a slight swelling, which disappears after 2-3 days.
Antacids slow down the absorption of iron.
Use with acetohydroxamic acid reduces the effectiveness of both drugs, when used with iron supplements may accumulate iron in the liver.
Concomitant use with drugs of the tetracycline group reduces the effectiveness of the latter, they can be administered with an interval of 2-3 hours.
In combination with tocopherol the effectiveness of both drugs is reduced, in combination with cholestyramine – the effectiveness of iron drugs, in combination with etidronic acid – the effectiveness of the latter, it can be administered after 2 hours.
Indication
Treatment and prevention of iron deficiency anemia in animals, especially inΒ piglets and calvesΒ .
Contraindication
Do not use in animals with signs of acute vitamin E and selenium deficiency.
Storage conditions
In a dry, dark place at a temperature of +3 to +25 Β° C.
After opening the vial, use the drug within 24 hours.
Do not allow the drug to freeze.
Expiration date
3 years.
