Golden Def for cats up to 4 kg, 0.5 ml, 3 pipette (Advocate, Advantage multi)
Structure
The active ingredient is imidacloprid, moxidectin;Β auxiliary components – benzyl alcohol, caprylic triglyceride, N-methylpyrolidone, PEG-400.
Pharmacological properties
Imidacloprid belongs to the group of chloronicotinyl compounds.Β Blocks postsynaptic cholinergic receptors that are sensitive to nicotine and are located in ectoparasites in the central nervous system.Β Interruption of the transmission of a nerve impulse leads to the death and paralysis of the parasite.Β Imidacloprid has a low level of penetration through the blood-brain barrier, therefore, practically does not affect the central nervous system of mammals.
Moxidectin belongs to the second generation of macrocyclic lactones of the milbemycin group.Β It works against many ecto- and endoparasites.Β It is active against larvae and gastrointestinal nematodes.Β Moxidectin interacts with gamma-amino-butyric acid and with glutaric chlorine tubules of parasites, which leads to the opening of chlorine tubules in the postsynaptic space.Β An increase in the amount of chlorine ions leads to an irreversible decrease in muscle activity, paralysis and death of parasites.
Application procedure
The drug is administered to animals once by drip on dry, intact skin.Β To eliminate ticks and fleas, cats are treated once, to prevent re-infestation throughout the season of parasite activity – according to indications, but not more often than once a month.
When treating allergic dermatitis caused by insects, it is advisable to use the drug in combination with drugs for pathogenetic and symptomatic therapy.
Dosage
0.5 ml (1 pipette) for an animal weighing up to 4.0 kg.
Contraindications
Increased individual sensitivity to the drug.Β It is not allowed to apply to patients with infectious diseases and convalescent animals, as well as kittens under 9 weeks of age.
Side effects
As a rule, side effects and complications when using the drug in accordance with this instruction are not observed.Β In rare cases, in some animals, individual skin reactions (redness, itching) are possible, which spontaneously disappear within 1 – 4 days and do not require the use of drugs.Β In case of an overdose, neurological symptoms are noted: deterioration of coordination, tremor, shortness of breath, hypersalivation (when licking the drug), which also spontaneously disappear within a few hours.
