Description

1 ml of imaverol contains 100 mg of enilconazole as an active ingredient, and polysorbate and sorbitan laurate as auxiliary components. In appearance it is an amber-yellow solution. Packaged in 100 ml bottles made of dark glass and 1 liter in plastic bottles.

Pharmacological properties
Imaverol is a synthetic broad-spectrum antifungal agent. The drug is active against dermatophytosis in cattle, horses and dogs caused by Trichophyton verrucosum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Trichophyton equinum, Microsporum canis, Microsporum gypseum. Enilconazole, which is part of the drug, is a selective inhibitor of the biosynthesis of ergosterol – the main component of the membrane of fungal and yeast cells. It leads to irreversible changes in the cell walls of fungi and yeast, thereby providing an antifungal effect. Enilconazole has a vapor-phase effect that increases its effectiveness. After local application, it has low systemic availability. The remains of enilconazole in animal tissues are practically absent and relatively high in the liver. Excretion from tissues and blood plasma in cattle occurs with a half-life of 12 to 16 hours. Enilconazole is extensively metabolized and excreted mainly in urine and faeces. Milk excretion in cows is very limited. Imaverol is corrosion resistant.

Indications
Prescribed to cattle, horses and dogs for the treatment of dermatophytosis.

Doses and method of administration
Imaverol is applied to animals externally in the form of 0.2% enilconazole emulsion. The working emulsion of the drug is prepared by mixing 1 part of imaverol and 50 parts of warm water. For example, to prepare a diluted working emulsion, 100 ml of imaverol is diluted in 5 liters of warm water or 1 liter of the drug is diluted in 50 liters of warm water. The treatment consists of 4 applications of the working emulsion at intervals of 3 to 4 days. In severe cases, the course of treatment may be extended. Before using the drug, areas on the animal’s body that are stained with dirt or manure are pre-cleaned. The crusts on the body of the animal are removed using a stiff brush dipped in the working emulsion of the preparation.

It is recommended to wet the entire surface of the animal’s body already during the first treatment in order to eliminate undetected foci of the disease. Cattle are washed using sprayers or watered with a diluted emulsion from a hose at the rate of at least 1 liter of working emulsion per adult animal and 0.5 liter per calf. In horses, the affected areas, together with the surrounding skin, are treated with a working emulsion of the drug. For dogs, the working emulsion of imaverol is rubbed into the skin against the coat. Long-haired dogs are recommended to be sheared beforehand. You can also completely immerse the dog in a container with a working emulsion of the drug.

Side effects
In hypersensitive animals, allergic reactions are possible.

Contraindications
Increased individual sensitivity to the drug.

Special instructions
Products from cattle and horses, which used the drug, are used without restrictions. Imaverol can be used by pregnant and lactating females.

Storage conditions
In a dry, dark place, out of reach of children and animals. Separated from food and feed at a temperature of 15 to 30 ° C. The shelf life is 5 years. The shelf life of the working imaverol emulsion is no more than 6 weeks.
