Composition

1 g of the drug contains:

birch tar – 100 mg

gum turpentine – 70 mg

sulfur – 100 mg

salicylic acid – 20 mg

zinc oxide – 100 mg

lysol – 60 mg

Description

Ointment of gray-brown color, creamy consistency, thick, with a specific odor.

Pharmacological properties

Preparation with pronounced fungicidal, bactericidal and ectoparasitic properties.

Birch tar has antiseptic, antiparasitic, local irritant, astringent and drying effect.

When sulfur comes into contact with moisture, alkalis and organic substances, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, oxygen and sulfur alkalis are formed, which act keratoplastically and keratolytically, which determines the antiparasitic and antimicrobial properties of sulfur.

Salicylic acid when applied topically irritates the skin and promotes the rejection of keratin epithelial cells. Enhances granulation on the wound surface, bactericidal, antitoxic, fungicidal.

Zinc oxide has astringent, drying and disinfecting effects.

Lysol has anti-inflammatory, bactericidal and insecticidal action.

Indication

Treatment of cattle, sheep, goats, horses, pigs, dogs, rabbits, chickens with trichophytia, eczema, dermatitis and other skin diseases, necrobacteriosis, hoof rot, sarcoptosis (scabies).

Method of application and dosage

Before use, the ointment is mixed, because during storage, it is possible to stratify its components. The drug is applied in a thin layer on the affected areas of skin and 2-4 cm around them and rubbed lightly. You do not need to pre-remove the scales and cut the hair. Affected areas are treated 1-2 times a day until the scales disappear, the course – 4-5 days. As a rule, in 7-10 days on the affected areas hair growth begins.

At the end of the treatment, a control microscopic examination of the scrapings is performed. When pathogens are detected, treatment is continued.
