Powder for oral use ( niclosamide, oxibendazole, levamisole hydrochloride )
1 g of the drug contains:
niclosamide – 230 mg
oxibendazole – 30 mg
levamisole hydrochloride – 40 mg
Description
Light yellow powder.
Pharmacological properties
Antiparasitic drug with a broad spectrum of action.
Niclosamide when taken orally is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and in contact with tapeworms inhibits oxidative-phosphorolytic processes, which leads to the weakening and rapid death of scolexes and segments of parasites, which are partially digested and excreted from animals.
Oxybendazole disrupts the metabolism of glucid in nematodes, blocking the formation of ATP, which causes paralysis and death of parasites at all stages of development within a few hours after administration of the drug.
Levamisole enhances the nematodicidal action of oxybendazole and is an effective immunomodulator. At the subsequent vaccination promotes formation of postvaccinal immunity of high level.
Method of application and dosage
Before use, the drug is mixed with food in the following doses:
- dogs, cats – 1 g per 10 kg of body weight, with a third of the morning feed;
- chickens – 1 g per 10 kg of body weight, the course – 3 days;
- geese, ducks – 5 g per 10 kg of body weight, the course – 3 days.
Reservation
Do not exceed the recommended doses. In some animals with severe invasion due to intoxication by the digested parts of the helminths may appear urticaria and itching in the anus, diarrhea, vomiting, anxiety. These symptoms disappear quickly without special treatment.
Indication
Treatment and prevention of mixed gastrointestinal invasions caused by:
- dogs, cats – larvae and mature helminths Ancylostoma caninum, Dipylidium caninum, Diphyllobothrium latum, D. minus, Toxocara canis, T. cati, Toxascaris leonina, Trichuris vulpis, Taenia hydatigena, T. multiceps;
- chickens, geese, ducks – Ascaridia galli, unlike A. A. Dove, Caplllarla goose, duck, C, C structure, Synyamus the trachea, Streptocara crassicauda, Hyrnenolepis thin H. paracompressa, Fimbriaria fasciolaris, Tetrámeros fissispina.
