When administered intramuscularly, oxytetracycline is rapidly absorbed from the injection site and reaches maximum tissue concentrations approximately 30-50 minutes after administration. The therapeutic level of the antibiotic remains in the body for 24 hours. It is excreted from the body mainly with urine and bile secretion, in lactating animals - with milk.
