Oxytetracycline 200 mg/ml, Sterile Solution Oxyprol (Vetrimycin, Liquamycin analog)
Oxytetracycline antibiotics of the tetracycline group for Cattle, Sheep, Goats, Pigs, Turkeys
Storage
1 ml of the drug contains:
oxytetracycline dihydrate (hydrochloride) – 200 mg
Description
The liquid is light yellow, homogeneous, transparent.
Pharmacological properties
Oxytetracycline – an antibiotic of the tetracycline group, inhibits protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit of drug-sensitive microorganisms, which prevents the connection of ribosomes with aminoacyltransport-RNA. It is believed that oxytetracycline binds back to the 50S subunits of the ribosome and alters the permeability of the cytoplasmic membrane of susceptible microorganisms.
After administration of the drug, the maximum concentration of oxytetracycline dihydrate in blood plasma is observed in 2-3 hours and persists for 72-96 hours.
Oxytetracycline binds to plasma proteins by more than 80%, is distributed throughout the body, reaching the heart, kidneys, lungs, muscles, pleural fluid, bronchial secretions, sputum, bile, salivary, synovial and ascitic fluid, intercellular space and vitreous, in small quantities – in saliva, eye fluid and milk. The drug penetrates the placental barrier, poorly penetrates the cerebrospinal fluid, but in meningitis, its content in the cerebrospinal fluid can reach therapeutic levels. The elimination period in dogs and cats is 4-6 hours, in cattle – 4.3-9.7 hours, in horses – 10.5 hours, in pigs – 6.7 hours, in sheep – 3.6 hours. It is excreted mainly unchanged in the urine through the kidneys and bile through the gastrointestinal tract.

Oxytetracycline - 100 mg (Liquamycin analog)
Oxytetracycline hydrochloride belongs to the group of tetracycline antibiotics. It is obtained from the culture of the fungus Streptomyces rimosus. Easily penetrates the cell membrane. Acting on the ribosomes of bacteria, it disrupts the protein synthesis of the microbial cell in most gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including streptococci, staphylococci, corynebacteria, clostridia, erysipelotrix, Pasteurella, salmonella, pseudomonas, actinobacteria, Escherichia riche, spicherichia. When administered intramuscularly, oxytetracycline is rapidly absorbed from the injection site and reaches maximum tissue concentrations approximately 30-50 minutes after administration. The therapeutic level of the antibiotic remains in the body for 24 hours. It is excreted from the body mainly with urine and bile secretion, in lactating animals - with milk.
