BIOPIROX 10 MG/ML CUTANEOUS SPRAY, SOLUTION
COMPOSITION AND FORM OF ISSUE
Olamini piroctonas 1.0 g, Polyoxyetylene lauryl alcohol, propylene glycol, glycerin 85%, Dimethicon copolyol, light denatured alcohol, 1% medical gasoline, distilled water. The drug is produced in glass or plastic bottles of 100 ml with a mechanical spray.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
The antibacterial and antimycotic effect is exerted by the compound pyroctonolamine (octopyrox). The sulfur-containing substance affects dermatophytes of the genus Trichophyton and Microsporum, as well as T.mentagrophytes, T.rubrum, T.verrucosum, M. canis, M. gypseum . Biopyrox disrupts the metabolism of fungi, has a bactericidal effect on Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Klebsiella spp., Enterobacteriacea spp. and Pseudomonas aeruginosa . Due to the presence of auxiliary components, the drug forms a protective film on the skin, moisturizes it.
INDICATIONS
Biopyrox is used to treat microsporia and trichophytosis in dogs, cats and other fur animals.
DOSES AND METHOD OF APPLICATION
For effective use of the drug, it is necessary to remove dirt and animal hair in and around the affected area. Shake the medicine bottle well before use. Spraying occurs within 2-3 seconds. The distance to the affected skin area is 10-20 centimeters. It is necessary to process the surface 4 times a day with an interval of 2-4 days. If recovery has not come, then the course of treatment must be repeated. The timing of the course is prescribed by a veterinarian, they depend on the speed of healing of wounds, as well as on the severity of skin damage. It should not be allowed that when processing the animal there was an open flame or heating devices nearby. It is recommended to apply the drug in an open space, or the room must have good ventilation. It is necessary to prevent licking of the drug, for this, the jaws of the animal are fixed with a muzzle, braid or a special neck collar. Avoid contact with eyes. If more than 25% are affected, then the drug is applied in two stages, first on one, then on the other half of the body.
SIDE EFFECTS
Possibility of allergic reactions in particularly sensitive animals. An overdose of the drug 10 times causes reddening of the skin and hair loss in the treated area. These phenomena disappear after 5-7 days without requiring treatment.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
The use of the drug by productive animals is not allowed.
STORAGE CONDITIONS
The drug is a flammable substance of the 2nd degree. Store in closed manufacturer’s packaging, separately from feed and food, in a dry, dark place, out of reach of children, at a temperature of 0-25 ° C. Expiration date – 24 months.
