Bayoclox DC is an antibacterial drug containing 11.11% cloxacillin (in the form of a salt of benzathic acid) as an active ingredient, as well as form-forming components (aluminum stearate and liquid paraffin).
In appearance, the drug is a homogeneous suspension of a grayish-white color.
Bayoclox DC is released in the form of a sterile suspension, packaged in 4.5 g in plastic injectors.
Each injector contains 500 mg of cloxacillin.
Composition:
4.5 g of the drug contain cloxacillin (benzathine salt) – 500 mg.
Pharmachologic effect:
Cloxacillin belongs to the group of beta-lactam antibiotics and is active against staphylococci resistant to Penicillin G. Cloxacillin binds to the proteins of the bacterial cell membrane (known as penicillin-related proteins), thereby disrupting the cell wall synthesis process.
Cloxacillin is bactericidal.
Application:
Bayoclox ® DC “is used at the simultaneous start-up of cows for the prevention of mastitis of bacterial etiology in cows in the dry period.
Bayoclox DC is administered once, intracisternally, in all quarters of the udder immediately after the lactation period, in a single dose of 4.5 g (1 injector) in each quarter of the udder.
Before using Bayoclox DC, milk is dispensed from all quarters of the udder, the nipples are treated with a disinfectant solution, then an injector cannula is inserted into the nipple canal and the contents are carefully squeezed out. The contents of one injector are introduced into each quarter of the udder. After this, the cannula is removed, the top of the nipple is pressed with fingers for 1-2 minutes and the nipple is lightly massaged from the bottom up for better distribution of the drug.
For the treatment and prevention of mastitis in cows in the dry period. The drug is effective against Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus dysgalactiae and other types of streptococci, as well as Staphylococcus spp, Arcanobacterium pyogenes.
Bayoclox ® maintains an effective antibacterial level in the udder of dry cows for about 4 weeks, showing a bactericidal effect.
Contraindications:
Do not use for lactating cows. Do not use in cows with a dry period of less than 4 weeks. Do not use in animals with hypersensitivity to the active substance.
Cautions:
Before the introduction of the nipple must be cleaned and disinfected. Carefully hold the tip of the injector so as not to be contaminated with microflora.
Dosage:
Immediately after the last lactation, one injector is introduced into each udder lobe through the nipple canal.
Withdrawal period:
Do not consume milk for 28 days before calving. Milk is suitable for human consumption 96 hours after calving. If calving occurred earlier than 28 days after the administration of Bayoclox®, then milk must be eaten in any case 28 days and 96 hours after treatment. Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed 28 days after the administration of Bayoclox®.
Toxicology and restrictions:
Bayoclox DC by the degree of exposure to the body belongs to low-hazard substances, in the recommended doses it does not exert a locally irritating effect on breast tissue. Bayoclox DC should not be used in case of individual hypersensitivity of the animal to cloxacillin.
Bayoclox DC is forbidden to be used by cows during lactation, as well as less than 28 days before calving. Milk for food purposes can be used no earlier than 252 hours after calving. Milk obtained after calving of cows before the deadline can be used after boiling in animal feed.
Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed no earlier than 28 days after the introduction of Bayoclox DC. The meat of animals forced to be killed before the expiration of the specified period can be used for the production of meat and bone meal.
