Gentamicin Sulfate 100 mg/ml Injectable Solution, 100 ml

is prescribed and used by veterinarians to treat bacterial infections of the uterus in horses. It may also be used to aid conception in mares with bacterial uterine infections.

Clear yellowish solution.

Storage

1 ml of the drug contains the active substance: gentamicin sulfate – 100 mg.

Pharmacological action

Gentamicin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that acts bactericidal on some gram-positive and most gram-negative bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella, Shigella, Enterobacteraerogenes, Klebsiella, Pseudomonasaeruginosa, Mycoplasma.

The drug inhibits protein synthesis in bacterial cells. Resistance to it occurs very rarely and develops slowly.

Application

Prevention and treatment of colibacillosis, salmonellosis, respiratory and urogenital diseases of bacterial etiology, septicemia in cattle, horses, foals, calves, pigs

Dosage

Internal ulcer in a dose:

horses and cattle – 4 ml per 100 kg. once a day;
foals, calves, pigs – 2 ml per 50 kg. once a day.

The course of treatment is 3-5 days

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to gentamicin, do not administer the drug to animals with impaired renal function and simultaneously use aminoglycoside and nephrotoxic antibiotics.

Reservation

Slaughter of animals for meat and consumption of milk for human consumption is allowed after 7 and 3 days after the last administration of the drug. Until this time, meat and milk are fed to unproductive animals or disposed of (depending on the opinion of a veterinarian).

Bottles of 50 and 100 ml.

Storage

Dry, dark place at a temperature of + 15C to + 25C.

Shelf life – 3 years

After the first withdrawal from the vial, the drug should be used within 28 days, provided storage in a dark place at a temperature of + 2C to + 8C.
