Pharmacological properties
Combined broad-spectrum antibacterial drug against the causative agents of economically significant bacterioses, mycoplasmosis, rickettsioses, spirochetosis, treponematoses and chlamydia, affecting cattle, pigs, sheep, goats.
Tiamulin is a semi-synthetic antibiotic from the pleuromutilin group, inhibits protein synthesis in microorganisms sensitive to it, acts bacteriostatically against gram-positive bacteria Erysipelothrix spp., Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Listeria monocytogenes, Corynebacterium pyogeneste bacteria. coli, Lawsonia intracellularis, Fusobacterium necrophorum, M. bovis, M. hypopneumoniae, M. hyorhinis, M. synoviae, M. hyosynoviae, Ureaplasma spp. etc., leptospira Leptospira spp., spirochetes Serpulina hyodysenteria, S. innocens, treponema T. Indications
Treatment of animals for diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to tiamulin and tylosin:
• pigs – erysipelas, dysentery, ileitis, leptospirosis, listeriosis, campylobacteriosis, colibacillosis, pasteurellosis, salmonellosis, infectious gastroenteritis, spirochete enterocolitis, atrophic rhinitis, enzootic pneumonia, actinobacillary pleuropneumoniae, pleuropneumoniae;
• cattle, sheep, goats – bronchopneumonia, dysentery, peritonitis, metritis, umbilical sepsis, purulent arthritis, hoof rot, brucellosis, leptospirosis, postpartum complications, postoperative infections.
Contraindications
Do not administer to animals with hypersensitivity to the active ingredients of the drug, sows in the first month after insemination. Do not use concomitantly with penicillin, cephalosporin and lincomycin, as they reduce the antibacterial properties of the drug. Do not use for at least 7 days before and after treatment with the drug based on polyester ionophores (monensin, narasin, salinomycin, etc.).
Method of administration and dosage
Before use, the solution is heated to a temperature of + 25-30 ° C. The drug is administered intramuscularly once a day, the course is 3-5 days. The dose is 1 ml per 10 kg of body weight. When pigs are ill with enzootic pneumonia, mycoplasmic arthritis, the dose is increased by 25-50%.
7-10 days after the end of the course of treatment of pigs for dysentery or ileitis, it is advisable to repeat the treatment with TimTil or another antimicrobial agent for oral administration (Brovamulin-100, Brovamulin-plus, etc.).
Cautions
Sometimes a slight edema, erythema, itching may appear at the injection site, which disappear after 2-3 days without special treatment.
After the last use of the drug, slaughter of animals for meat is allowed after 10 days. Meat obtained earlier than the specified period is disposed of or fed to unproductive animals, depending on the conclusion of the veterinarian.
