Milprazon Dewormer for Cats

Combined anthelmintic drug of nematodicidal and cestodicidal action. The active ingredients included in the preparation provide its wide spectrum of anthelmintic action.

Composition:
One tablet contains active ingredients:

Milbemycin oxime – 16 mg
Praziquantel 40 mg

Auxiliary components: microcrystalline cellulose – 32.98 mg, lactose monohydrate – 75.37 mg, povidone – 0.75 mg, croscarmellose sodium – 5.5 mg, colloidal silicon anhydrous – 0.9 mg, magnesium stearate – 2.5 mg, white opadry – 3.2 mg, meat flavor – 0.4 mg , dry yeast – 0.2 mg, iron oxide yellow (E172) – 0.2 mg.

All Milprazon tablets have a meaty taste that is attractive to animals.

Milprazon is prescribed for the treatment, deworming and prevention of diseases caused by both larval forms and sexually mature cestodes – Dipylidium caninum, Taenia spp., Echinococcus spp. and nematodes – Ancylostoma tubaeforme, Toxocara cati, Dirofilaria immitis (disease prevention), incl. with nematodes, cestodes, combined nematodes-cestodes invasions.

Deworming of pregnant and lactating cats, if necessary, is carried out under the supervision of a veterinarian.

The drug is administered to cats once during feeding with a small amount of food or injected forcibly onto the root of the tongue after feeding in a minimum therapeutic dose of 2 mg milbemycin oxime and 5 mg praziquantel per 1 kg of animal weight at the rate of:

Body weight size of tablets
> 2-4 kg 1/2 tablet
> 4-8 kg 1 tablet
> 8-12 kg 1½ tablets

A preliminary fasting diet and laxatives are not required before deworming.

For therapeutic purposes, cats are dewormed according to indications, for prophylactic purposes – quarterly, as well as before each vaccination and mating in a therapeutic dose.

A single dose of deworming drug protects cats from Dirofilaria immitis infection for up to one month.

For the subsequent prevention of dirofilariasis, it is advisable to use a drug containing one active ingredient milbemycin oxime.

Contraindications:

individual hypersensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug (including a history), severe renal and liver dysfunction.
do not use the drug in kittens younger than 6 weeks of age and weighing less than 0.5 kg.
Depleted and sick with infectious diseases animals are not subject to deworming.
