Serenia 20 ml. (Cerenia) antiemetic solution for injection. The main active ingredient is maropitant citrate – 10 mg / 1 ml, as auxiliary components: metacresol – 3.3 mg, sodium B-cyclodexitrin sulfobutyl ether – 63 mg, water for injection. The drug is produced in the form of a clear solution of light yellow color, and is packaged in dark vials with a capacity of 20 ml. Appointment. Serenia is prescribed for vomiting of both central and peripheral genesis in dogs and cats. Maropitant is rapidly absorbed and reaches its maximum concentration 45 minutes after subcutaneous administration. The bioavailability of the drug is 90%. The active substance binds to blood proteins by 99% and is metabolized in the liver. Excreted mainly in faeces. According to the degree of impact on the body, maropitant belongs to low-hazard substances (hazard class 3). Dosage. The drug is administered only subcutaneously at a dosage of 1 mg. active substance per 1 kg. the mass of the animal, which is 1 ml. preparation for 10 kg. body weight. The duration of application is 5 days. If the dose is missed, you must start over according to the scheme. Do not use after the expiration date. The opened bottle is allowed to be used within 90 days. Keep out of reach of children at a temperature of 3 – 25 degrees. Shelf life is 3 years from the date of manufacture.
