Enroflox 5% (enrofloxacin 50 mg) Solution for Injection, Baytril analogue
Description
A clear solution of pale yellow or yellow color.
Storage
1 ml of the drug contains the active substance:
enrofloxacin 50 mg.
Excipients: potassium hydroxide, benzyl alcohol, citric acid monohydrate, water for injections.
Pharmacological properties
Enrofloxacin belongs to the group of fluoroquinolones. The mechanism of its bactericidal action is associated with the inhibition of the subunit A of DNA hydrase (topoisomerase II) of the bacterium, which blocks the process of supercoiling of the DNA molecule. In gram-positive bacteria, this process affects topoisomerase IV rather than topoisomerase II. This blocks the reproduction, transcription, and recombination processes in the DNA of the bacterium.
The drug is effective against gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms: E. coli, Salmonella spp., Klebsiella spp., Haemophilus spp., Pasterella spp., Clostridia spp., Bordetella spp., Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus sppne. and others, and also acts on mycoplasmas (Mycoplasma spp.).
Application
Calves: treatment of animals with respiratory diseases (bronchopneumonia, hemorrhagic septicemia, mycoplasmosis), digestive tract (colibacillosis and others) caused by microorganisms sensitive to enrofloxacin.
Pigs: treatment of animals with diarrhea, enterotoxemia, MMA syndrome (metritis-mastitis-agalactia) caused by microorganisms sensitive to enrofloxacin.
Dogs: treatment of animals with diseases of the digestive tract, respiratory system, and urogenital system, as well as skin caused by microorganisms sensitive to enrofloxacin.
