Metronidazole is an oral medication prescribed for the treatment of various types of infections, including bacterial infections and protozoal infections caused by parasites. Metronidazole may also help treat other inflammations found in the gastric system.
Composition 1 tablet (0.8 g) of the drug contains the active substance: metronidazole – 250 mg.
It has a bactericidal effect on gram-positive and some gram-negative bacteria. It has a good effect against a size of pathogenic bacteria associated with diseases of ornamental fish. In other words, diseases that include the genera Aeromonas and pseudomonas, as well as a group of mycobacteria (Gill diseases, rhodococci). It is useful when you control a “hole in the head” and “Angel problems” in cichlid and discus. Treatment of cattle, sheep, pigs, fur-bearing animals, dogs, cats and birds suffering from trichomoniasis, dysentery, diarrhea, colitis, stomatitis, as well as diseases of the respiratory system, genitourinary system, gastrointestinal tract and skin caused by microorganisms sensitive to metronidazole. Pharmacological properties
Metronidazole belongs to the 5-nitroimidazole group. The mechanism of action of metronidazole is the biochemical reduction of the 5-nitro group of metronidazole by intracellular transport proteins of anaerobic bacteria and protozoa. The reduced 5-nitro group of metronidazole interacts with the DNA of the microbial cell, inhibiting the synthesis of its nucleic acids, which leads to the death of the microorganism. Contraindications
