Due to its repellent properties against arthropods, the collar prevents wingless insects and ixodid ticks from feeding on blood and reduces the risk of infection of animals with vector-borne diseases (VBD®), thus preventing the transmission of the causative agent of bartonellosis (Bartonella henselae), cytozoonosis (Cytaxozoon Diplomis felismyloma) to cats ); dogs of the causative agent of ehrlichia canis, babesiosis (Babesia canis, Babesia vogeli), anaplasmosis (Anaplasma phagocytophilum), borreliosis (Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato), leishmaniasis (Leishmania spp.).

The collar is for external use only. Remove the collar from its protective packaging immediately before use. Unfold the collar and break all plastic straps. Put the collar around the neck of the animal, without tightening too tight, so that there is a gap of 2 fingers between the neck and the collar. Pull the collar through the loops and cut off the remainder, the free end should be at least 2 cm long.
Light reflectors are added to each collar, which reflect light and are designed for the animal’s visibility in the dark. Reflectors are attached to the collar in an amount of up to 3 pieces after the collar is attached to the animal’s neck. The reflector is removed from the package, attached to the collar so that it does not block the mechanism for safely removing the collar from the animal’s neck. Attaching the reflector to the collar is accompanied by a specific clicking sound. Fixed reflectors are not removable and cannot be reused. The light reflectors supplied with the collar are only intended for use with the Foresto® collar and have only been tested in combination with this collar.
The Foresto® collar, with constant use, protects the animal from ectoparasites for 8 months. The collar should fit well around the animal’s neck and not restrain the growth of young animals, which should be checked periodically.
Before putting on the collar, it is recommended to remove any ticks on the animal, as they cannot be killed immediately and can remain attached. The action of the collar against ticks begins immediately after donning.
It is best to wear the collar before the flea and tick season begins.
