Insecticidal agent Agita 10 WG
Composition and form of release
Insecticidal agent Agita 10 WG contains as active ingredients thiamethoxam in an amount of 10% and Z-9-tricosene (sex pheromone of flies) in an amount of 0.05%, as well as lactose and sugar. It is a water-soluble fine-grained powder of beige color, odorless. After dissolving in water, it forms a milky-beige suspension. Packaged in 100 g plastic jars with a capacity of 240 ml.
Thiamethoxam, which is part of the drug, belongs to the group of neonicotinoids. Thiamethoxam has a contact and intestinal insecticidal effect against flies, fleas and cockroaches. Thiamethoxam blocks nicotine-acetylcholine receptors of postsynaptic membranes of nerve cells, which leads to the death of insects. The drug is active against insects resistant to organophosphate insecticides, pyrethroids and carbamates. Tricozen, the sex pheromone of flies, attracts insects to the sites of application. The action of Agita 10 WG begins 3 – 5 minutes after contact of insects with the drug. According to the degree of impact on the body of warm-blooded animals, Agita 10 WG belongs to low-hazard substances, in recommended concentrations it does not have a local irritating and sensitizing effect. The drug is toxic to fish and bees.
For the destruction of flies on objects of various types. The drug can also be used to combat cockroaches and fleas.
Doses and method of administration
Insecticidal agent Agita 10 WG is used in the form of a solution by applying smears or by spraying onto the surface. Dissolve the granules in lukewarm water. The drug solution should be used immediately after its preparation, or within one day. Stir very thoroughly before using the solution. If the processing process has been suspended for more than 30 minutes, Agita 10 WG solution should be re-mixed. The prepared working solution is applied in places preferred by insects (warm sunny walls of the room, window frames, window sills, doors, supports, parts of fences, pipes, milk pipelines and other surfaces). At the time of processing, animals should be removed from the premises.
Applying strokes to the surface.
To prepare a working solution, dissolve 100 g of Agita 10 WG granules in 80 ml of water in a separate container and mix thoroughly to obtain a homogeneous suspension. The prepared working solution is sufficient for the treatment of rooms with a floor area of 40 m2. The solution is applied with a brush to the surface in strips of 10×30 cm. At least 8 strips should be applied to treat rooms with a floor area of 40 m2. In the absence of convenient surfaces for applying the solution, in the presence of wooden, plastered and whitewashed surfaces, or due to the undesirability of applying the agent directly to walls and interior items, the solution is applied to strips of cardboard or plastic tape and attached to the walls or suspended from the ceiling. The period of insecticidal action of Agita 10 WG when applying smears of the drug to the surface is 6 – 8 weeks.
Spraying on the surface.
To prepare the working solution, 100 g of Agita 10 WG granules in 800 ml of water are dissolved in the tank of the spray apparatus and mixed thoroughly to obtain a homogeneous suspension. The prepared working solution is sufficient for the treatment of rooms with a floor area of 20 m2. Direct spray should be applied to about 30% of the surface of the walls and ceiling. In pigsties, wall surfaces should be sprayed at a height of more than 1.5 m from the floor surface, and on cattle farms, at a height of more than 2 m from the floor. The room can be used again after the sprayed surfaces have dried. The period of insecticidal action of Agita 10 WG when sprayed on the surface is 4 – 6 weeks. Repeated treatments are carried out according to entomological indications: with the accumulation of flies or their constant flight into the room.
With proper use and dosage, side effects are usually not observed.
It is forbidden to treat surfaces with which food or feed will come into contact, feeders and drinkers, as well as surfaces with which animals may come into contact. The product should not be applied to dirty, highly porous or freshly whitened surfaces. Do not pour drug residues into a sink or drain.
Treatment must be carried out in gowns, rubber gloves, sealed goggles and respirators. Do not allow the drug to come into contact with the skin and mucous membranes. Do not eat, drink or smoke during processing. At the end of the treatment, you should wash your hands with warm water and soap. If the patient feels unwell, immediately remove the victim to a well-ventilated room or fresh air and consult a doctor. If an insecticidal agent comes into contact with the mucous membrane of the eyes or skin, rinse them thoroughly with water.
