Powder amoxicillin for broiler chickens, chickens, pigs, dogs, cats
Amoxicillin trihydrate – semi-synthetic penicillin, belongs to beta-lactam antibiotics, inhibits the synthesis of bacterial cell walls by inhibiting transpeptidase and carboxypeptidase, which causes a violation of osmotic pressure and the death of microorganisms in the developmental stage.
Potassium clavulanate is a beta-lactam structurally related to penicillins, has little antibacterial activity, but, irreversibly inhibiting a size of beta-lactamases, prevents inactivation of amoxicillin and provides its antibiotic activity against bacteria, usually resistant to other amoxicillin-resistant amoxicillin.

Description
Light yellow powder.
Pharmacological properties
A broad-spectrum antibacterial drug.
Amoxicillin trihydrate – a semi-synthetic penicillin, belongs to beta-lactam antibiotics, inhibits the synthesis of bacterial cell walls by inhibiting transpeptidase and carboxypeptidase, which causes a violation of osmotic pressure and the death of microorganisms in the developmental stage. It is destroyed by beta-lactamases, which are biosynthesized by a number of resistant bacteria, as a result of which the spectrum of activity of drugs based on one amoxicillin is significantly narrowed. Effective against gram-positive microorganisms – Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Actinomyces spp., Clostridium spp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Listeria monocytogenes, Bacillus anthracis, Corynebacterium spp.). , Actinobacillus spp., Bordetella bronchiseptica, E. coli, Fusobacterium spp.
Amoxicillin after oral administration is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and is resistant to gastric juice. Its bioavailability is approximately 30%. The maximum concentration of amoxicillin in blood plasma is observed in 2-4 hours after use. It is well distributed in body fluids, and quickly penetrates into tissues and spreads to muscles, liver, bile, kidneys and urine. Excreted by the kidneys in the urine.
Potassium clavulanate is a beta-lactam structurally related to penicillins. It has a slight antibacterial effect, but irreversibly inhibits a number of beta-lactamases, prevents the inactivation of amoxicillin and provides its antibiotic activity against bacteria that are usually resistant to amoxicillin and other penicillins and cephalosporins, Klebsiella Proteppinesiae. and Staphylococcus spp.
Clavulanic acid is not broken down by gastric or intestinal enzymes and is rapidly absorbed, creating therapeutic levels in bile. It enters the placenta. Excreted by the kidneys with urine glomerular filtration. Does not change the pharmacokinetics of amoxicillin. Not found in milk.
Method of application and dosage
The drug is given orally with drinking water or food. An aqueous solution of the drug is prepared immediately before use. Before treatment of animals for two hours turn off the watering system.
The drug is used in the following doses:
- poultry – 1 g (equivalent to 200 mg of amoxicillin trihydrate and 50 mg of potassium clavulanate) per 10 kg of body weight with drinking water;
- chickens, broilers up to 10 days old – 12.5 g (equivalent to 2500 mg of amoxicillin trihydrate and 625 mg of potassium clavulanate) per 100 liters of drinking water, the course – 3-5 days;
- chickens, broilers older than 10 days – 25 g (equivalent to 5000 mg of amoxicillin trihydrate and 1250 mg of potassium clavulanate) per 100 liters of drinking water, the course – 3-5 days;
- pigs – 0.4-0.5 g (equivalent to 80-100 mg of amoxicillin trihydrate and 20-25 mg of potassium clavulanate) per 10 kg of body weight with feed, milk or drinking water every 12 hours, the course – 3-5 days; in severe disease on the first day of treatment, the dose can be increased 2 times;
- dogs – 0.5 g (equivalent to 100 mg of amoxicillin trihydrate and 25 mg of potassium clavulanate) per 10 kg of body weight with minced meat or food, 2 times a day, the course – 5-7 days;
- cats – 0.25 g (equivalent to 50 mg of amoxicillin trihydrate and 12.5 mg of potassium clavulanate) per 5 kg of body weight with minced meat or food, 2 times a day, the course – 5-7 days.
For dogs and cats with severe disease in the first 2 days, the dose can be increased 2 times, and the course of treatment extended until the symptoms disappear
Reservation
Adherence to the recommended doses and course of treatment usually does not cause side effects. In some hypersensitive animals, possible allergic reactions are possible.
The absorption of the drug is reduced by antacids, glucosamine, laxatives, aminoglycosides, and increases ascorbic acid.
After the last application of drug slaughter of pigs on meat is allowed in 3 days, poultry – in 2 days. Meat obtained earlier is disposed of or fed to non-productive animals, depending on the conclusion of the veterinarian.
Indication
Treatment of poultry (broiler chickens, broiler chickens, breeding chickens), pigs, dogs, cats with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin and soft tissues caused by microorganisms sensitive to amoxicillin and clavulanic acid.
Contraindication
Do not use in animals with hypersensitivity to penicillins, severe renal impairment, during pregnancy and lactation. Do not use in horses, rabbits, eels, hamsters, chinchillas, small herbivores, as well as laying hens, whose eggs are eaten by humans.
