Pharmacological properties : Azithromycin is a semi-synthetic substance from the group of azalides (a number of macrolides). It is active against gram-positive microorganisms (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Actinomyces spp., Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium spp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae) and some gram-negative microorganisms (Salmonella spp., Borteurella bronchilus spp., Haemte.
