Description

Opaque dark brown liquid.

Composition

1 ml of the drug contains active substances:

• iron dextran complex (in terms of active iron) 7 mg;
• vitamin B1 30 µg;
• vitamin B2 11.4 µg;
• vitamin B6 2.8 µg;
• vitamin PP 428.4 Gg;
• calcium pantothenate 16 µg;
• copper chloride 27 Gg;
• cobalt chloride 2.6 µg;
• inactivated normal pig serum up to 1 ml.

Excipients

• phenol, merthiolate.

Pharmacological properties

ATC-vet classification code: QB03 Antianemic drugs.

Plasma proteins homologous to pigs, especially gamma globulin, prevent agammaglobulinemia and promote passive immunity. Iron III dextran complex replenishes iron deficiency, stimulates hemoglobin synthesis, increases red blood cell count and weight gain of piglets. Trace elements and vitamins regulate metabolic processes and supplement the lack of these components in the body.

Application

Used for the prevention and treatment of pigs with anemia, edema, hypogammaglobulinemia; diseases associated with metabolic disorders and functions of hematopoietic organs; weaning piglets from sows.

Dosage

For prophylactic and therapeutic purposes used in doses:

• piglets aged 3-7 days – 5 ml subcutaneously. If necessary, re-apply in the same dose after 7-10 days;
• older piglets, piglets and pigs – 10-20 ml subcutaneously or intramuscularly with possible repetition of the dose in 7-10 days.

Contraindication

Missing.

Side effect

The use of the drug in piglets born to weakened or depleted sows with vitamin E and selenium deficiency may cause a self-intoxication reaction associated with hypersensitivity to iron.

Reservation

Do not enter more than 10 ml of the drug in one place.

Tissue staining occurs at the injection site with the drug for 5 days.

Do not use simultaneously with other iron-containing drugs.
