Pharmacological properties
Tinidazole is a synthetic drug with a broad spectrum of action on the simplest Balantidium coli, Entamoeba hyslolytica, Treponema hyodysenterie, Histomonas meleagridis, Lamblia intestinalis, Eimeria spp., Trichomonas columbae, T. gallinae, bactericidal action on anaerobes Clopidobacter sides. , most types of gram-positive and gram-negative cocci, etc.
It is quickly and almost completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. The maximum concentration in blood serum is observed in 2 hours and remains within 12 hours. It is well distributed in all tissues of the body, biotransformed in the liver. About 60% of the drug is excreted in the urine, 12% – in the feces.
Indication
Treatment of animals with diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to tinidazole:
- birds (pigeons, ornamental pheasants) – histomonosis, trichomoniasis, eimeriosis, salmonellosis;
- dogs, cats – giardiasis, amebiasis, trichomoniasis, other anaerobic infections;
- decorative rabbits – eimeriosis.
Contraindication
Do not prescribe to animals sensitive to tinidazole, with impaired liver and kidney function, in the last third of pregnancy.
Method of application and dosage
The drug is administered orally.

Reservation
