Dectomax (doramectin) Injection for Cattle and Sheep
Description:
A medicinal product in the form of a solution for injection, intended for the treatment and prevention of nematodes and arachnoentomoses in cattle, sheep, goats and pigs.
In appearance it is a sterile solution, colorless or pale yellow in color.
Composition:
1 ml of the drug contains 10 mg of doramectin as an active ingredient; as auxiliary substances – ethyl oleate, butylhydroxyanisole, sesame oil.
Pharmacological properties:
Dectomax is a ready-to-use sterile pale yellow or colorless solution containing 1% doramectin (10 mg / ml). Doramectin is a new member of the avermectin group. The drug modulates the activity of chloride channels in cell membranes in the nervous system and muscles of nematodes and arthropods. By binding to receptors, it increases the permeability of membranes for chlorine ions, which leads to blockade of electrical activity of nerve and muscle cells of nematodes and arthropods and their paralysis and death. In mammals, these receptors are localized only in the central nervous system, and doramectin practically does not penetrate the blood-brain barrier, therefore, in recommended doses, the drug is safe for mammals.
