Spectrum Of Activity:
Tylosin, a macrolide antibiotic, is active against particularly Grampositive bacteria like Streptococcus spp. and Staphylococcus spp. (including Staphylococcus aureus), some Spirochetes (including Leptospira): Actinomyces, Mycoplasmas (PPLO), Haemophilus pertussis, Moraxella bovis and some Gramnegative cocci.
Prevention and treatment of infections caused by micro-organisms susceptible to tyosin, like Mycoplasma-infections (C.R.D., Synusitis, enzootic pneumonia), enteritis (Treponema hyodysneteriae) and pneumonia infections (Pasteurella multicida) in cattle, pigs and poultry (broilers).
Dosage And Administration:
Poultry: 100 mg tylosin tartrate, per kg b.w. daily the first 3-5 days of life, during 3-5 consecutive days after appearance of first symptoms.
Calves: 1 g powder per calf through the drinking water or milk, twice a day, for 7-14 days.
Pigs: 100 g powder per 400 litres of drinking water, daily, for 10 consecutive days.
