Description
Clear solution from yellow to light brown with almost no inclusions.
Storage
1 ml of the drug contains the active substance:
enrofloxacin – 50 mg.
Excipients: n-butanol, potassium hydroxide, water for injections.
Pharmacological properties
PBX vet classification code QJ01 – antibacterial veterinary drugs for systemic use. QJ01MA90 – Enrofloxacin.
Enrofloxacin belongs to the group of fluoroquinolones. It is effective against most pathogenic microorganisms: Mycoplasma spp., E. coli, Salmonella spp., Campylobacter spp., Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella spp., Bordetella spp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Klebsiella spp., Proteus paraemic, Proteus spp. Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus spp., Clostridium perfringens, Actinobacillus spp. and enterococci. Enrofloxacin has antimicrobial activity by inhibiting the activity of the enzyme DNA gyrase, which is an extremely important catalyst for DNA replication in bacterial cells. Inhibition of DNA gyrase activity leads to functional disorders, blocking biosynthesis in the cell and death of the pathogen. Enrofloxacin is characterized by bactericidal activity, especially against microorganisms resistant to beta-lactam antibiotics,
Following parenteral administration, enrofloxacin is rapidly and completely absorbed from the injection site. Enrofloxacin is rapidly distributed to body tissues, and after 1-2 hours its active concentration in tissues and tissue fluids is several times higher than the concentration in serum.
Most enrofloxacin is metabolized in the body by N-dealkylation and conjugation with glucuronic acid.
Enrofloxacin is excreted mainly in the urine as glucuronides and partly in the bile. The half-life is from 2 to 7 hours, depending on the species. The half-life in calves is 1.2 hours in dogs.
Application
Enroxil 5% solution for injection is prescribed to farm animals and dogs for infections of the respiratory system, gastrointestinal tract, genitourinary system, colibacillosis, septicemia, salmonellosis, atrophic rhinitis, streptococcus, bacterial and enzootic pneumonia, enzootic pneumonia, pneumonia and enzootic pneumonia. pathogens that are sensitive to enrofloxacin.
Dosage
Cattle, sheep, goats – intravenously or subcutaneously at a dose of 1 ml of the drug per 20 kg of body weight (2.5 mg of enrofloxacin per 1 kg of body weight) once a day. For the treatment of frequent respiratory infections and salmonellosis, the dose is doubled, ie 5 mg of enrofloxacin per 1 kg of body weight. The course of treatment is – 3 days, with salmonellosis – 5 days.
Pigs – intramuscularly at a dose of 1 ml of the drug per 20 kg of body weight (2.5 mg of enrofloxacin per 1 kg of body weight) once a day. For the treatment of frequent respiratory infections and salmonellosis, the dose is doubled, ie 5 mg of enrofloxacin per 1 kg of body weight. The course of treatment is – 3 days, with salmonellosis – 5 days.
Dogs – subcutaneously at a dose of 1 ml per 10 kg of body weight once a day for 5 – 10 days.

Metronidazole is an oral medication prescribed for the treatment of various types of infections, including bacterial infections and protozoal infections caused by parasites. Metronidazole may also help treat other inflammations found in the gastric system.
Metronidazole is especially effective against anaerobic infections - bacteria that can live without oxygen. It's able to penetrate bone, making it especially useful in oral/dental infections. In addition, it has anti-inflammatory properties in the large intestine and is an effective anti-diarrhea medication for certain diseases.

Baytril, which is a derivative of quinolone carboxylic acid, is an anti-infective chemotherapeutic medicine with specially high bactericidial effect. Enrofloxacin, inhibits the bacterial gyrase enzyme which has an improtant role in DNA replication. The inhibition of this enzyme, blocks certain stages of bacterial synthesis, causing functional disorders leading to death of the bacteria. This gives Baytril a different mode of action in comparison with other antibiotics. Enrofloxacin has a broad-spectrum anti-bacterial efficacy, including Mycoplasmas, gram negative and gram positive bacteria as well as anaerobic patogenic bacteria.

Its mechanism of action is based on the inhibition of bacterial gyrase enzyme, leading to disruption of bacterial DNA replication.
After parenteral administration of enrofloxacin rapidly and completely absorbed due to high bioavailability. Its maximum concentration is reached after an average of 6 hours. Therapeutic concentration is maintained within 2 days. Enrofloxacin partially metabolized in the liver and excreted in the urine and bile.
Enrofloxacin has a high level of distribution. Thus, the concentration in the tissues and organs is usually higher than in serum. The bodies, which can be observed the highest concentration – the lungs, liver, kidneys, intestines.
