Storage
1 ml of the drug contains:
fluorophenicol / Florfenicol – 300 mg
Description
The liquid is light yellow, transparent.
Pharmacological properties
Fluorophenicol is a derivative of thiamphenicol, where the hydroxyl group is replaced by a fluorine atom.
It acts bacteriostatically and bactericidal, binding in the protoplasm of the bacterial cell with the ribosomal subunit of 70S bacteria and blocking the enzyme peptidyltransferase. This leads to disruption of amino acid transport and subsequent cessation of protein synthesis in microorganisms at the level of ribosomes.
Active against pathogens that produce acetyltransferase and are resistant to chloramphenicol.
Fluorophenicol acts against gram-positive microorganisms – Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Gram-negative microorganisms – Proteus spr., Salmonella spr., Escherichia coli, Pasteurella spp., Bordetella bronchiseptica, Klebsiella spp. Fusobacterium necrophorum, Shigella spr., Aeromonas spr., Flexibacter spr., Mycoplasma Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, M. Hyorhinis.
After parenteral administration, it is rapidly absorbed and penetrates most organs and tissues. The maximum concentration in blood serum is reached in 30-90 minutes, therapeutic concentration remains at least 48 hours. High concentrations are observed in the lungs, kidneys, bile, as well as in the muscles, intestines, heart, liver, spleen and serum. Excreted unchanged and as metabolites mainly in the urine, partly in the feces.
Indication
Treatment of animals for diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to fluorophenicol:
- cattle – respiratory diseases caused by Pasteurella multocida, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus somnus;
- pigs – respiratory diseases caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae and / or Haemophilus parasuis, Pasteurella multocida, M. hyopneumoniae, M. hyorhinis.
Method of application and dosage
The drug is administered to cattle :
- intramuscularly in the middle third of the neck – 1 ml per 15 kg of body weight (equivalent to 20 mg of fluorophenicol per 1 kg of body weight), the course – 2 injections after 48 hours;
- subcutaneously – 2 ml per 15 kg of body weight (equivalent to 40 mg of fluorophenicol per 1 kg of body weight), once.
In pigs, the drug is administered intramuscularly into the neck at a dose of 1 ml per 20 kg of body weight (equivalent to 15 mg of fluorophenicol per 1 kg of body weight), the course – 2 injections after 48 hours.

When used in the recommended doses, side effects usually do not occur. Some animals may have redness, swelling in the anus and diarrhea, which do not significantly affect their physiological condition. These symptoms disappear without special treatment.
Use only dry syringes and injectors, do not mix in one syringe with other medicines and water.
After the last intramuscular injection of the drug, slaughter of cattle for meat is allowed after 34 days, after subcutaneous administration – after 42 days, slaughter of pigs – after 21 days. Meat obtained before this date is disposed of or fed to non-productive animals, depending on the conclusion of the veterinarian.
Contraindication
Do not use in animals with hypersensitivity to fluorophenicol, pregnant sows, heifers and pregnant cows in the first third of pregnancy and lactation, breeding bulls and breeding boars.
Do not use simultaneously with thiamphenicol and chloramphenicol.
Storage conditions

After parenteral administration of enrofloxacin rapidly and completely absorbed due to high bioavailability. Its maximum concentration is reached after an average of 6 hours. Therapeutic concentration is maintained within 2 days. Enrofloxacin partially metabolized in the liver and excreted in the urine and bile.
Enrofloxacin has a high level of distribution. Thus, the concentration in the tissues and organs is usually higher than in serum. The bodies, which can be observed the highest concentration – the lungs, liver, kidneys, intestines.
