Description:

Creamy white or gray-white powder.

Compound:

1 g of the drug contains the active ingredient:
albendazole 100 mg.
Excipients: sodium benzoate, starch, lactose, chalk.

Pharmacological properties:

ATCvet QP52A, anti-nematode and proticestodal veterinary drugs (QP52AC11, albendazole).
Albenmix 10% is an anthelmintic drug, the action of which is due to the pharmacological properties of the active substance – albendazole. The drug is active against sexually mature and larval forms of nematodes (round helminths), which parasitize in the alimentary canal and lungs of animals, some types of cestodes (tapeworms) and sexually mature trematodes (flat helminths).
Albendazole belongs to the group of benzimidazoles, which inhibit protein (tubular) synthesis, as a result of which the intake and intracellular transport of adenosine triphosphoric acid and glucose is disrupted, as well as mitochondrial reactions are reduced by inhibition of fumarate reductase, which leads to the death of parasites.

Application:

Deworming of cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs, cats, fur animals, poultry with gastrointestinal and pulmonary nematodes (sexually mature and larval forms), some cestodoses and trematodes (sexually mature):
in cattle, sheep and goats:
– nematodes – Haemonchus contortus, Nematodirus spathiger, N. Filicollis, Chabertia ovinа, Bunostomum trigonocephalum, B. Phlebotomum, Oesophagostomum venulosum, O. columbiatum, O. Radiatum, Trich ovis, T. skrjabinulis, strongycitus, vitoris, T. Dictyocaulus filaria, D. viviparus;
– cestodes – Moniezia expansa, Moniezia benedeni, Thysaniezia giardi;
– trematodes – Fasciola hepatica (sexually mature);
in pigs:
– nematodes – Ascaris suum, Oesophagostomum dentatum, Trichocephalus suis, Strongyloides ransomi, Metastrongylus elongatus, M. pudendodectis, M. salmi;
– cestodes – Anoplocephala magna;
in dogs, cats, fur-bearing animals:
– nematodes – Toxocara canis, Toxocara cati, Toxascaris leonina, Uncinaria stenocephala;
– cestodes – Dipylidium caninum;
in poultry (chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks):
– nematodes – Ascaridia galli, Heterakis gallinarum, Syngamus trachea.

Dosage:

Orally once in a mixture with feed in the following doses:
cattle: with nematodes, cestodoses – 0.75 g of the drug per 10 kg of body weight;
with trematodes – 1.0 g of the drug per 10 kg of body weight;
sheep, goats: with nematodes, cestodoses – 0.5 g of the drug per 10 kg of body weight;
with trematodes – 0.75 g of the drug per 10 kg of body weight;
pigs with nematodes – 1.0 g of the drug per 10 kg of body weight (with esophagostomosis, trichurosis, strongyloidosis, metastrongylosis and mixed invasion twice with an interval of 12-24 hours);
dogs, cats, fur animals: with nematodes, cestodoses – 2.5 g of the drug per 10 kg of body weight;
poultry: with nematodes – 1.0 g of the drug per 10 kg of body weight.
Therapeutic and prophylactic deworming of cattle, sheep, goats is recommended to be carried out after the end of the grazing period and in spring, before pasture, and also according to indications.
The drug is administered to the animals during the morning feeding individually or in a group.
Birds the calculated dose of the drug is divided into two parts and set at a daily interval.
If the food is given in the form of wet mash, then the drug is first mixed with dry food, after which water is added. For cattle, the drug is given with bran or compound feed individually in buckets, while the mixture is thoroughly mixed and moistened with water.

Contraindications:

Do not use in malnourished animals and poultry, animals with an acute form of fascioliasis, pregnant females in the first third of pregnancy.

Caveats:

In group treatment, several animals are first treated with the drug. In the absence of complications, the remaining animals are treated. When deworming animals, overdose is not allowed.
Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed after 14 days, poultry – after 2 days. Milk can be eaten no earlier than 4 days after the last use of the drug. The meat and milk obtained before the specified period is disposed of or fed to unproductive animals, depending on the conclusion of a veterinary doctor.

Laminated or polymer bags of 3, 10, 50 g, plastic containers of 100, 500 g.

Storage:

Dry, dark place inaccessible to children for temperatures from 0 to 30 ºС.
Shelf life is  3 years.
