Florfenicol 100 mg/ml ORAL Solution (RESFLOR, Nuflor, Norfenicol, Florvio, Aquaflor analog), 1000 ml
Florfenicol for poultry and pigs
1 ml of the drug contains:
florfenicol – 100 mg
Description
The liquid is light yellow, transparent.
Pharmacological properties
Florfenicol is a derivative of thiamphenicol, where the hydroxyl group is substituted by a fluorine atom. Active against acetyltransferase-producing pathogens and resistant to chloramphenicol, it provides bacteriostatic and bactericidal action by binding in the protoplasm of the bacterial cell to the ribosomal subunit of 70S bacteria, blocking the enzyme peptidyltransferase, which leads to disruption of transport microorganisms.
After oral administration, the bioavailability of florfenicol is: in pigs – 88%, in poultry – at least 55%. High levels of antibiotic concentrations are observed in the lungs, kidneys, muscles, intestines, heart, liver, spleen, and serum. The maximum concentration in the blood is reached after 1 hour, the therapeutic concentration is maintained in the organs and tissues of pigs and poultry for 24 hours. It is excreted unchanged and as metabolites: in poultry mainly in the feces, in pigs – in the urine and partly in the feces.
